We don't rely on donations, so if we get enough is pretty pointless to ask.
However, the actual money spent for Stabyourself.net (especially considering Gamescom) is higher than the amount of donations. Basically, we also have to invest our own money to keep everything running as smoothly as we want.

Does it cost much to keep the website up and running?Sašo wrote:We don't rely on donations, so if we get enough is pretty pointless to ask.

why you don't look for some "organization" to hook you up or maybe even sponsorize you ? like Samsung, a friend of mine , a youtuber , started getting money on youtube after advertising for Samsung products .you should do the same ? idkSašo wrote:We don't rely on donations, so if we get enough is pretty pointless to ask.

Because advertisements are annoying and we don't want them.

VPS cost is 12,90€/month (not counting the domains since they add about 1-2€ per month).
Which is more expensive than the one we had before, but it's also significantly more reliable (and a bit more powerful too). Also we're on limited bandwidth so going over 4TB costs additional ~6€ per TB.
For example, hosting costs for March (Mari0 Release) were 26,70€ VPS + 73,05€ Amazon S3 (which was a bad strategic decision on my part), total being just short of 100€. So Mari0 release cost us 100€ (though the amount of donations was highest during that time).
In unrelated news: as you might have noticed, I like numbers a lot.

I'm sure companies like Samsung would love to associate themselves with developers that use existing brands they don't own or have explicit permission to use, even if it's not commercial.FaycalMenouar wrote:why you don't look for some "organization" to hook you up or maybe even sponsorize you ? like Samsung, a friend of mine , a youtuber , started getting money on youtube after advertising for Samsung products .you should do the same ? idk
Also, I'd rather burn out my entire money reserve than have ads on the site.

then Maurice should monetize the videos on his youtube account , and make more videos , the more videos you make the more money you get also make some facebook activities to get more people to the site , it may seem easy to make a website and stuff , but i do know how it feels , i've been thru that too and it's painful . good luck anyways .

I'm personally against monetizing Stabyourself.net related videos and facebook activites seem a bit useless in our context.
