I'm pretty sure Maurice started making a mario clone over at the love2d forums, but then he decided to make mari0. Then he and saso met, and ... this happened. I'm not sure if I'm right, though.

I was searching mario fan games. And got bored. Then I played Portal 1 and 2 (the flash version). And got bored too. So I though about mixing them together, and found it here. I actually found it almost a long time ago, but then I saw they were still making it, so I started doing other stuff, and never found it again, until that time.

I found Mari0 through Not Tetris 2. I don't remember how I found about Not Tetris 2, but I enjoyed that game. Somehow, it was deleted from my laptop, so I had to redownload it. Google led me to the Stabyourself.net to redownload, and I decided to look around the site while downloading Not Tetris 2 again. And the development of Mari0 is what I saw, and I liked what I saw. So I decided to keep the website bookmarked to follow the progression of the game.

I ran into Not Tetris 2 when I was on Google searching for images of "Realistic Tetris gif", then came across a person saying that it's an actual game. Then when I found Not Tetris 2, I found something called "Mari0" about 2 months before the completion of the game.

A friend of mine found Mari0 from stumbleupon or whatever about three-quarters of the way through its development. I saw it and came to see on my own computer, and followed it until it came out. She didn't stick around with it for too long.

I was watching some video on YouTube before mari0 was out (I think it was by a user called dorkly and it was called Mario with a portal gun) and so I just got really bored and searched: "Mario Portal". Mari0 came up, I liked what I saw, I think it was when the 3rd video of it was out so I subscribed and waited for it to come out. The saturday it came out and I played it was probably the best day of my life.
