Okay fine. No more poke fun out of people's names
Let's change back to the subject that not include "do people remember me and do I remember people or some sort of like that"
Which is cards.
In my place kids put pokemon and magic cards in their hands, and then high five. The person who gets his/her card "image face" faced up wins
It's not that fun but at least better than trying to translate what they write on the cards to actually play it like it should be played
I think

In my country, I guess Yu-gi-oh is pretty significant. Also, playing cards have a huge impact on gambling.

$20 for a game you can beat in a day?
I'm considering getting it for my brothers birthday but should I even bother?

You understand that this was done over 2 days and that's a lot of hours.
Also that's just beating it once you can still replay it.

Pardon my offtopic subject here, but...

Am i the only oe who isnt dissapointed about Super Mario 3D World? Honestly, a lot of people are dissapointed it isnt like Galaxy, but those games never really were all that terrific to me. Don't get me wrong, theyre not bad, i just never liked em. My only real problem with SM3DW is that Toad is BLUE.

Nope. I'm rather looking forward to it - I liked Land.

Speaking of which, I think this guy has the whole situation figured out:

That man/woman deserves a medal this instant.
Any way 3D land is actually the first mario game my brother beat before I did so I can't wait for the game to come out at the end of the year,
also it's nice to see an item that's not a re skin of another item... And a goddamn new story in a main mario game.
It's actually my second favorite nintendo E3 announcement and if you think the first one's smash bros you'd be wrong.

Alright, I'mma hijack the thread for some help:

I have 3 good ideas for a theme for another spriting contest, but can't choose between the three. For all three participants will be required to make a title, gameplay screen, or just some general sprites. The options are:

1) Make any title you want, but it has to stay within the limits of either the Gameboy or NES palette
2) Merge any two franchises together and make a game concept out of them, then work from there
3) Take any NES or Gameboy game and make an "HD" upgrade to it (SNES style and beyond)

I'm quite partial to the third choice myself, but I'd like some general feedback before I choose an option. Which option would you guys most like to try?

4) Trist3D game

They all sound like good ideas, and I can't decide between 2 and 3.

I'm going to be a pain here and add another option. Maybe one where you can only have a very small number of different colours (say 8, or something else small), so you have to choose between detailed black and white, or simplistic colours, or a very limited colour bank with shading, and so on. I think it's more interesting a challenge than to be given a preset palette.

I'd say 2 but then it would be filled with mario and sonic crossovers
so I'd say 3 is pretty good seeing as it doesn't require drawing for those who suck at it and requires good shading techniques.

I like choice No.1 and No.Camewel.
No.2 is a bit too general, and doesn't sound very challenging.

Yeah, because you'd get a totally different score than last time. (it'd probably be lower you nitwit, put some damn effort into this if you enter)

Last time it was judged by art. The only one that was sketchy was the "does it look fun" category, but that was still based on art.

Also turret shut up

First, I would got with all the numbers. They all sound fun.
Second, I found this guy who makes game theories with a lot of scientific facts. Look at one of the video, it's disturbingly undeniable:

Fun, gives lots of freedom and is still challenging. Will be mostly based on actually judging the art itself.
idiot9.0 wrote:2) Merge any two franchises together and make a game concept out of them, then work from there
This one adds a new point to judge: originality of the idea. It also gives way more freedom than one and two.
I like this idea the best together with 3. Although I'm afraid there will be people who simply won't put effort into originality.
idiot9.0 wrote:3) Take any NES or Gameboy game and make an "HD" upgrade to it (SNES style and beyond)
Sounds fun to me as well. Giving the sequel feel to an old NES game sounds like fun.

I've got fun ideas for all of these. Let's just hope more people participate this time.
Btw, if you don't have any plans on prizes I might be able to help out on that.

Playing Battleblock Theatre with my cousin is about as frustrating as having a sloth knit a wool sweater while wearing oven mits.
Still pretty fun though.

I think option letter 3 is the best, as 1 is practically what we did last time, and two will have low originality, and would require judges who know (in detail) the games that are clashing.

This forum has been up for over a year. It launched to the public in Feb 2012 but Saso's account has been around since the start of 2012. It's nearly a year and a half old.

Also Turret's recent decline in quality is sad but not unexpected.

Guys, it took me about 10 minutes to go here. I don't know why, but my mouse has stopped working when I plugged in my PS3 Controller Dualshock 3 in, while MotioninJoy was on along Mari0. It's seriously hard to navigate around only with the keyboard. I keep hearing "plugged out" and "plugged in" sounds from time to time. I tried stopping MotioninJoy and also restarting my computer and unplugging my controller. I can't do anything right now. I would try and uninstall the driver, but I can't only with a keyboard. I'm hijacked. :c

I would appreciate if anybody has ideas.
