I recomend this if you have good friends you can tell them, however if you have bad friends never ever Ever tell them. They would just laugh at you.
I have a problem with most of my friends (if I can call them that) They laugh at me for playing Mario games. I would never reveal the secret of me watching MLP.

If there was a pony game ever to be made I always imagined it to be more like Harvest Moon (the first one).
You just make a character and socialize. You get a job (e.g. set up a shop, become a farmer, etc.), participate in events (which could be minigames) to raise bits.
You can socialize with all the ponies from the show by acting accordingly to their personalities, likes and dislikes. You can befriend them or even become their sworn enemies. You can collect furniture and items to place in your home (which would be cool if that could be customized/built too).
Then there could be events where you have to do things like save Rarity from Diamond Dogs (and that sort of things turret mentioned) which could also be mini games. Maybe even attend parties to make Pinkie Pie happy and get invited to the Grand Galloping Gala. Heck, so much would be possible but I doubt anyone is willing to do this.

That sounds better, but maybe you could unlock parts for future characters, like cutie marks, hair style, and certain combinations make special things happen. Maybe even a cheat to play as spike...
It'd be fun trying to find the rainbow hair, light blue skin, and cool shades and rainbow lightning cutie mark so I can be RD.

My new idea that I just came up with:
You are Twilight Sparkle. You start off with the first episode and every day, the next episode starts (unless its a two parter, then part 2 starts after part 1) but MAYBE NOT OMFG if you don't play by the rules and make Twilight say she hates apples. But as long as you make 5 BFFs by meeting 5 people who will decide to go with you on your way to defeat nightmare moon (only a select few though, mane6 duh but what if *gasp* derpy is the element of generosity [because she asked RD if she needed help in last roundup] or *HUGER GASP* scootaloo is the element of loyalty too!) then the story will continue as it should, otherwise maybe you'd have to start over? Not for every episode, but for fatal (in context) things like not making friends, not beating discord, not getting a report sent by tuesday, ect. After the last episode (the royal wedding part 2) you get to see like a score or something. The only thing is that you can't prevent meeting Pinkie Pie. Just 'cause.
Example of what it could be like (in book form -_-): "...Twilight met Pinkie Pie after getting to Ponyville..." "...Scootaloo was the element of loyalty, Applejack was..." "...Rarity told Twilight she knew stage fright when..." "...Discord's puzzle didn't fool Twilight, she went to where..." "...Twilight went home from Apploosa crying, because Pinkie and Rainbow weren't found and they had to leave..." "...Derpy was going to compete for the best young flyer competition, but had trouble finding someone to cheer for..." "...turns out, it was the poison joke was what cause Derpy to be blind, Scootaloo to be a baby..."
