I just got back from the county region chess olympics. I got beaten to death. I lost 2 matches, tied 1 and won 1. Those guys were FAR much better than I expected.

Doesn't sound like that bad of a loss to me.
I'm alright at chess. I'll beat the average person but probably couldn't get anywhere in a competition.

The only way to win in 2 turns is performing the Fool's Mate, which happens just if the opponent is a fool(hence the name), either cuz he's stupid, inexperienced(and in both cases it's still rare cuz it requires specific moves), or simply want to lose on purpose...it's more a sign of the loser's stupidity rather than the winner's ability.
The other fastest way to win is the Schoolar's Mate, 4 turns, but stil it requires an unexperienced player.

Since we're talking about chess and checkers, I made checkers on Excel 2007. It's mostly finished, I just have to make it more fancy and add a piece selector. So, some feedback/suggestion?

NOTE: When you open it, a message bar will appear in the top of Excel. Click "Options", select the 2nd option (to allow macros) and OK.
NOTE 2: "Checkers", in Portuguese, is "Damas" (the file's name), and "Damas", in English, also means "Ladies" :)

So procrastination has stopped me from running memtest on my computer last year. Well, after seeing Guild Wars 2 won't run at all after having my computer on a day (my computer isn't even hot right now) has prompted me to try it asap.
As I'm trying to install it, my computer is having memory test to the point where I can't copy files over (literally). I've got a problem.

EDIT: Argh. First time through with MemTest was a pass. Anyone know why my computer might be having such ridiculous issues with running things? It's not only that it gets hot (I've checked the heat sinks). It never used to have problems like this. Any solution would be appreciated because this is ridiculous. If it is a software, please provide a link to the official page.

So on Saturday a weird thing happened to me in Terraria.

I went over to the dungeon to kill Skeletron, despite not yet having killed The Eater of Worlds. The battle went on for a bit. Then, at the end of it, I had taken out both of Skeletron's hands, we were both low on health, and I was out of mana and I think potion sick. Skeletron was hovering over me, then, out of the blue, a fallen star hit him in the face and killed him. As a bonus, that was the first time I saw something get killed by a star.

So I just got through actually going into Google+ and fixing my account (it kept making me connect my Google + account), so I did...

90% of my brain cells are now either dead or overheating from how stupid and confusing this shit is. It made me multiple accounts for everything or something and it's generally being an annoyance to users. What the fuck is Google thinking lately?

My advice:
do not by either of the adventure time games. I love adventure time as much as the next guy, but games made after shows and movies are usually complete shit. They never are fun, and even if they are, they don't last long and/or don't have replayability. Games like that are probably worth $5, not $40.

I've never heard of Shin Megami Tensei, but it looks alright. I would, myself, do some more research before saying anything definite, but the battle style reminds me of a lot of fun games I've played before (dragon quest, Golden sun, digimon) AND its $10 less than the other two. ($30)

So IF you're definitely going to get one of them, get Shin Megami Tensei.

Thanks SL, (I assure you though, I've played the 1st AT game, and it plays nice, but the replayablity problem may be a deal breaker)
