Late reply is late, I know. But I think this could be a good idea. I've personally tried learning to code in LOVE a few times now and failed at it, so having lessons of that kind would really help me out. And I know I'd be up for helping people with spriting, though I'm not the best at it by a longshot.

They have really helped me. (though I knew most of the information already...)

Actually it is based off of my first avatar where I pitted Mario with a portal gun on Yoshi against Kraid in Super Metroid after the first S0'B music video which had a metroid feel.

there's a free demo on the website (I'd link to it but the website's currently down)
or if you have xbox live you can get there although I wouldn't recommend it.

I know, but the thing is i have to test it with the optifine mod(im on a netbook and technically it can't handle minecraft as it is, while optifine might make it playable on 20-30fps without huge cpu usage), but apparently demo+mods is not recommendable to actually test mods, cuz what might not work with the demo might work perfectly with the full game.
shortly: i need to test it with a mod, hence i need the full game.

I'll be honest, 99% of the pc games i have are pirated versions(cuz of many reasons), having a pirated minecraft would mean i wouldnt buy it later(same reason of having it by a guft code), and...already tried to find a good pirated version, but i dunno how to find a legit one, from all the usual sites i use to get pirated games, i cant find a trusted download(one is 4 mb, another is above 120 mb, another one is a few kb, others say its an old verion but can get upgrades officially and its 1 mb...no way to know which one is legit and which one is not).

I just renamed it to MC For Free. It's actully called AnjoCaido's Launcher. I used it until someone gave me premium.
All you do is run it, put in any username you like, check "force update", and there you go! It works with mods.
To look for servers, go onto kingsofminecraft.com. Make a account on there, go to Fourm, Servers, and Cracked.

some people actually bitch when they don't get all the content from a game after they pirate a copy (I've seen people complaining they couldn't join the short lived stabyourself minecraft server because it didn't allow people with a cracked version to join)... No idea why.

i eventually found it myself, thank you anyway.

for the record, both my pc's can't handle it well enough to be playable, even with the best optifine settings.

as long as it is confined to the online functions, i agree, but except for that, i always got the full content out of my piratated games(isn't it normal, beside a few exceptions?).
