Supermarioportal2, I didn't say that, Jony did.
Also idiot9.0, I would if I was good enough but I am bad at spriting.

I was browsing through Spriter's Resource's forums when I stumbled upon this thread over there, and I wanted to try doing it over on these forums because I know many of you are good spriters. There wouldn't really be a prize for it, it would just be a silly contest to show how skilled everyone is with spriting a random subject. If I were to set up a thread about it, how many of you would be interested in trying it?
(Also do you think this counts as a forum game? I don't think it is but some might.)
I love this idea.
It is a forum game, but it is bound to have content unlike most (not all) other forum games.
There are many creative people on this forum and this is a stimulating way to make people practice and show their creations and skill.
I think this should be an exception to the 'no forum games allowed' for as long as it stays organized.
But I'm not the one who's allowed to make those decisions. You should ask Sašo.

That idea sounds promising, idiot. A different forum I'm on had a big writing contest once, and there were actually some good entries. It'd be interesting to see what this place has to offer.

I think it would be interesting if the winner's (if we have one) title screen would be made into an actual game.

I've seen a lot of awesome things on the forums.
Ranging from sprites to drawings to music to complete games.
There is a lot of creativity here.
But somehow people just aren't likely to post them.
Several art threads were posted, but none of them became active.
I'd like to see a central place for these things though, but they tend to die from inactivity...
Something needs to motivate people to show their creativity...

It should be made into a title screen or at least something in a game.
LOL so much people posting now.

I wish there was an art section, or a "Your Creations" thing. Sure, we have that game development, but there aren't many game devs as general artists.

Yeah, I am. I just had to see if it would get positive feedback first. As I said, I didn't want to make the thread if people weren't interested. Plus sleep.

Just to be clear, if you're doing the idea of making the game, I don't play well with others. Either I'll do all the coding or none of it.

So I had an idea for a thread that I wanted to share with you guys. We'd make a mega compilation of rules, inside jokes, and threads to go when you need help. If we make this in advance for the release of SE then any new people we get can just be sent there. Maybe we could avoid the huge spamming of the Mari0 section.

Qcode's duck, Jorichi-Flavored Soda, No Fun Allowed, Bamming, Etc.
And although it does seem like a good idea, we already have the rules list by saso. But I would love to see "Trends and in-jokes - updated 24th October" and "Help and support - updated 24th October" next to that lonely "Rules and guidelines - Updated 6th June".

I am 100% in favour of this idea only if the thread is called 'hell'.

I guess the inside jokes/trends would have jokes and trends and explain the orgin ad stuff like that.
The help/support would have some rules and maybe an explaination of what some of the post options do(bold, italic, URL, etc.)

I find this acceptable in just a few ways. Explanation of certain stabyourself.net-only jokes and their origin can be fun and might explain things for newcomers. But we don't want to make this a forum for competition for who can get their jokes in this thread. Turret is already annoying enough as he is right now... (no offense Turret).

However, a listing of common/known members with what they are known for might be a better idea.
It could help people find each other for projects or help/support on the subject (ofcourse with permission to be listed).
Things like positive milestones might also be a nice addition.
Bonko wrote:The help/support would have some rules and maybe an explaination of what some of the post options do(bold, italic, URL, etc.)
Common sense is rarely used. I doubt people will use it. But things like 'how to post images/video's' with indepth explanation would be useful for those who really don't know. And it might decrease the amount of post that say the pictures don't work and those explaining it. But then again, if they can't take the time to find out how people do it (for example: through a Google search or by quoting a message that does that what you want to do yourself), they are likely not to search for a thread that explains it either.

If there's a big obvious sticky called 'READ THIS FIRST' at the top of the page with all the info in, then we can just ridicule anyone who clearly hasn't read that first. That wouldn't be lack of common sense, it would be total ignorance.

Why does everybody say it's QCode's (or Kyle's) duck when I made it?
(triple hatted duck started by cowSheepo, top hatted duck and quadruple hatted duck by me. infinite hatted duck by pyrosaur, most loved bye Kyle and Qcode)

CowSheepo started the duck thread and Kyle was the first to make a duck with a duck hat. I named the duck Motherducker and made the infinite duck hat gif.

cowSheepo started thread, then you named him, then I made top hatted duck, then cowSheepo made triple hatted duck, then trosh made the duckers duck, then kyle made the hatted hatted hatted duck and then somewhere in another thread I made the quadruple hatted duck (for LF i think)
