Holy shit all this time I thought it was about an infamous criminal that does robberies and shit.
Is it really anything like Death Note or Dexter?

Does anyone remember Animator VS Animation?
There's a new one that got released today and it's the best one yet obviously.
I recommend watching it if you haven't already.

I haven't managed to get a good post on the forums in quite awhile.
Aside from the minor once-a-week smash stuff.
I'd really like to discuss Animal Crossing somewhere even though I got it a year late.

I've had animal crossing for awhile, and I spent a really long time collecting flowers from the island and planting trees around my main road.
I played the game a lot, but I stopped after awhile because I needed to stop ._.

You know that moment when you're randomly watching an old video from The Game Theorists and then...

I believe someone already pointed that out at one point.
I'm curious and I don't remember asking idiot but what part did he work on with the intro?

I made the animation of the old intro. I had no part in his current one.

No, Idiot, what Ren's asking is what part you made in the OLD intro, not the new one.
Also, just to let clear, I've seen someone pointing your name there a while ago, but at the time I didn't even pay much attention, nor knew about "The Game Theorists" channel, so when I actually saw that it was still a funny surprise :P

So... you made the whole thing? If so, you did an awesome job! I was thinking you made just a part of the animation, not it all :P

It may be also that Mojang is migrating their servers to another location.

Fun little fact: since my mom finally decided that we should build a new computer (technically, we'll "build" one, by buying each component), I'm going to finally buy Minecraft. YAY!
On another note, I finally finished a tutorial I've been working on for quite a while: Making a Simple 2D Physics Engine - Part 1. Parts 2 and 3 are coming soon :D
(BTW, if you read the tutorial, I'd appreciate some feedback/suggestions)

I was thinking just a normal 48-hour jam. People would be able to use whatever language or program they wanted to make it.renhoek wrote:I'd be game depending on what it is.
If we allow people to use any programming language/game-creation program they want, there'd probably be more people than you think.alesan99 wrote:I'd be great if there was one, but I'm not sure if there is enough people here that can join.
Probably on the weeked. I was thinking either next weekend or the weekender after.Mr.Q.Marx? wrote:When? Because it sounds cool.
A lot of people have fall break this week or next, so this weekend would be good for convenience.
When do you guys think it should be?

I might participate if it's this weekend specifically. Also you need to decide on a theme and all that if you want to do this like most game jams.

Honestly, as long as it's a weekend, then everyone should be fine (those who enter). Also, how will you decide the theme?

I'm going to make a poll so that people can vote.
Any suggestions for themes?

Well there's some general ones:
Platformer
Puzzle
Shooter
Adventure
That's all I can figure out. Anyone got something to add?

Those are more genres than themes.
I was thinking themes more along the lines of "Frogs" or "Clouds" or something like that.
Edit: nyanja'd!

"Back to the Source", "Something New", "Beyond Regulations", "A Note", "Between Dreams", "Beyond the Clouds", "From Inspritation", "Out of the Window", "Loss of Meaning", "Inexcusable", "Underlying", "From the Dark", "Between Ruins", "All that is left", "Last but not least", "All of the above".
Key words like this can be approached in different ways. Sometimes I see games in game-jam entries which take different approaches to the theme given, and I really like that. It would be nice if we could see games pop up that we simply didn't expect to see, instead of having everyone do the same thing because that's the first thing that came to them when they saw the theme...
(but then again maybe I'm over thinking a 48 hour jam)

I'm not sure if there even was another sys game jam. If you mean game jams outside of stabyourself then definitely yes, there are many other programming languages/frameworks being used in them. Love2d isn't even the most popular one.

The most popular language for game jams is game peanut butters.

10/10 a very of the lol.
I'm actually quite surprised that colors won the vote.
I thought for sure that it'd be frogs or bread & butter, considering that they were ahead.

Giving my honest opinion of the project, it was terrible. The games were fine but everything else was just so poorly executed. You gave completely random non-thought provoking themes. You held the contest the same week it was announced rather than setting a further date so people were more prepared and can tweak there schedules. There was no prize or reward of any sort. Finally, you participated in the contest yourself which is odd because of potential bias (granted you couldn't sway the voting).

Isn't that the point of contests (to have prizes)?MM102 wrote:There was no prize or reward of any sort.
