I vote for let it die like everything else. If you really think it has good, re-readable content, copy the whole thing to a text document.

It wouldn't get locked in the first place if you didn't get so hyped up over numbers...

Also I'm wandering how many people would care if the whole shameless chamber got locked?

There's already a pdf floating around the forums but nothing beats the original.

No, seriously. It's a nice story coming together and I want to see it finished. I don't care if everything else gets locked, I want to finish that story. With a good ending.

Good ending: Everyone dies. The end.

Best ending: The prime president of the observable universe Idiot pops out of the sky and rewinds time to before the story ever started. Then kills everyone. He lives happily ever after. The end.

I can literally see the cynic in Turret begin to arise. Please, for the love of god, have any of you learned to put up with annoying things? Turret isn't even that bad... If you think he's annoying, try living with my sisters. I swear, it's a lot worse than a few bad jokes popping up in rapid succession.

inb4 "It was a joke"
It was a pretty bad one that once again looks like some of you really don't like to consider being nice to Turret.

No one's worse than Turret, because Turret isn't even bad. I will shoot myself in the fucking foot and swear to the devil that guy isn't as bad as some of you make him out to be.

I'm just absolutely irritated that there could be THIS much hate for someone who makes bad jokes and gets a little cocky now and then. That's half, no, 90% of Earth's population in some over-exaggerating estimation of numbers, that you MUST absolutely hate, regardless of faith in humanity. Who doesn't crack a load of shitty jokes? Who doesn't get all cocky and smug when they begin to feel the positive reactions? It's just us, humans being absolutely retarded! We're not some high and mighty super-race because we're on a budding indie-dev community with loads of potential for the future. And it's certainly no reason to gang up on one person for being annoying. He's done nothing wrong to deserve such sharp and sarcastic stabs all the damn time. Fuck's sake, I got banned for being spammy, sarcastic, and shitty to idiots who come on here and start throwing shit at Maurice, Saso, or just don't even read the rules. To see that's what goes on towards Turret? I'm beginning to wonder who's really the annoying one here.

Tl;dr: Just stop. My temples hurt.

I dunno. I'm tired again and I may be going off on the wrong person. In that case, sorry that you were the trigger to my rant.
On the other hand if saying "You wanna test your luck?" is some kind of shorthand for "That was a stupid post." God dammit don't be so literal. No one has to say it for it to be said in response to the inferred said thing!

Well, here's my reaction to this post.
HAPPYFACES wrote:No one's worse than Turret, because Turret isn't even bad. I will shoot myself in the fucking foot and swear to the devil that guy isn't as bad as some of you make him out to be.
I don't think anybody really hates Turret himself. The problem here is that he forces himself to make a joke to just about everything and either derailing or ruining topics and/or forum games. It becomes an annoyance if someone is trying so hard to get attention. I really liked the Turret that wouldn't try to crack a joke to every post and was a bit more serious.

Me and roughly 90% on this forum. Who doesn't get all cocky and smug when they begin to feel the positive reactions? Me. It's just us, humans being absolutely retarded! What? We're not some high and mighty super-race because we're on a budding indie-dev community with loads of potential for the future. Nope, we aren't. But that's no reason for anyone to ruin forum games or topics with (serious) discussions. And it's certainly no reason to gang up on one person for being annoying. Several people asked him to stop, for several different reasons. But all he does is make a joke about it and then continue with what he was doing all along. He's done nothing wrong to deserve such sharp and sarcastic stabs all the damn time. I could simply repeat myself here, but instead: If you're painting a wall and a little kid puts his hands against it, leaving handprints, you'd ask him to stop wouldn't you? The kid stops briefly and then does it again and again, wouldn't you simply punish him in a disciplined manner? Or would you live in your livingroom with fucked up paint against the walls? Fuck's sake, I got banned for being spammy, sarcastic, and shitty to idiots who come on here and start throwing shit at Maurice, Saso, or just don't even read the rules. But you haven't done it again, now have you?
To see that's what goes on towards Turret? He simply doesn't learn. And tolerance has its limits too. I'm beginning to wonder who's really the annoying one here.

Tl;dr: Just stop. My temples hurt.
I really can take a shitty joke, in fact I sometimes even like them if they're at least original. But really pushing or copying humor and posting it in topics where people are trying to have a discussion over and over again gets people really annoyed. At first it's tolerated but even tolerance has limits. He is the 2nd most frequent poster on this forum, and I can tell you with a simple guess that about 80% of his posts are jokes or something that could have just as well been refrained from submitting. And with that number I think I'm being generous.
I simply do not hate him, and I've said that before, he only annoys me for what he does. All I want is for him to tone down with the jokes (It got to the point that you simply couldn't reason with him in the slightest, because everything had to be a joke), for him to think before he submits (not completely stop, just way less, give the posts some more context and solid reasons for posting).
I've asked that a lot and I'm really starting to doubt it would change.
I think the reason he hasn't been banned is because he's been a familiar part of the group of regular forum-members. Although he is on the edge.
Turret himself thought he would be banned by me, but I simply won't ban anyone. At least not without consulting Sašo and/or Maurice, but I haven't even considered discussing this subject with them. And I don't want to lose Turret either.

I just want you to see how I see it, HAPPYFACES.
I agree with you that he didn't had to be ranted uppon, but there was no reasoning with him because of his jokes. I tried to stay reasonable and I still do, but do you see any change in his quality of posts? I know I don't.
You don't have to agree with anything I say or think, I simply want you to understand that it can be (extremely) annoying for other people. And also keep in mind it isn't "just Turret". Nearly everyone who had the same repuation to post "dumb things" got flamed/scolded (or whatever you called it). Just like when Flutter Pie first got here (as supermarioportal2 I believe?), luckily he changed for the better.

I don't want to start this discussion/rant/fight/whatever again. And there is no need to. Turret should know how people think of his actions by now and he knows what to about it. Whether it will happen or not I cannot say, he promises so but only the change in his actions could tell. But sadly I haven't seen any real change or attempt there of.
He made a promise, I'd hate to see it get broken.

If you want to continue this discussion for some reason, please move it to PM's. This has gotten out of hand to far already.

So, topic change; Anyone seen Cube World yet?
Looks pretty fun.

I'm gonna talk about Cube World because because.
I (personally of course) like the game, though it has a button lag problem on my computer.
personally I'd recommend looking up some form of game-play, it's kind of grindy and not for everyone.
also can some please post in SCS?
thanks in advance.

It seems rather grindy right now, but many people forget that it's still in Alpha.
They are planning to add loads of more quests. The quests that are available now are regional quests that's almost always a "kill the boss" kind of objective. I simply hope that they add fun and original quests...
I'm loving the visuals though, the landscapes are amazing and fun to explore.

I've been on vacation in Memphis since Monday and this is the first time I've been able to get wifi. I'm not sure whether this is ironic or not, because the place I live is far less metro, yet everywhere I go has some form of wifi. I don't get it - I figured there'd be more wifi here, since it's a big city and all...

I do like it here, though. It's pretty nice.

Nawh it's okay. I get it. I just don't find any of this really necessary, on all sides. Turret, me, anybody annoyed by Turret. All unnecessary shit that caused my head to explode with that rant. I'm sorry, I truly am, but ffs if you guys ever have kids...
Done, done done.

Cube world looks beautiful, but when I showed it to some of my friends they were like "ooohhhh another Minecraft clone."

He made a promise, I'd hate to see it get broken. See below.
Why are you guys flipping your crap over everything?

First of all, Idiot cracked the joke first, then I continued it with a reference to how Jorichi became a moderator practically right before/after Idiot was 'elected prime president of the observable universe' which I admit is a joke I have told already, but it's more original than his, which he stole from Camewel. But the last time I stole a joke (from Kiashi) you guys just started hating on me again. I'd hate to see me break my promise, too. But if you guys don't loosen up a bit, then no matter how much I tone it down, I'll get hated on anyway for my crappy reputation I've built up since Mari0's release.
Once you guys learn to forgive and forget, I'll be a better member. But right now I'm stuck with my stupid reputation of having habits that I've since outgrown.

Nobody is flipping crap. Things are just getting more bloated than they should be.
It's certainly not about "Who stole what joke" or who is funny or not.
To keep things short and concise: Try to give your post more useful content, something that adds to the conversation and simply doesn't sound dumb. And this doesn't just go for Turret alone.

There is a rule for it on this forum, remember?; "Read your post out loud before you submit it, if it sounds dumb don't post it".
Forum topics get derailed and it's hard to keep a serious conversation going without someone cramming a joke down your throat. After a few jokes it just starts to feel like forced humor, as if they are trying to reach a daily amount or something and their creativity is completely drained. There are a lot of topics I simply don't actively watch/join simply because of this, and I know I'm not the only one.

But I'm giving up on this, I'll just go lurk more or something. The point gets missed every time anyways.

For once, and just this time, I side with Turret...this time he did nothing wrong, he normally joked about a joke made in the previous post by Idiot, and he dint say anything stupid. This time, IMO, it was HAPPYFACES(im referring to just what happened here in this page, i have nothing against you) the one who overreacted to what renhoek said...renhoek's answer to Turret had nothing to do with Turret's reputation, it was a normal answer related to what Turret said, there was no grudge against Turret in it. But, cuz of Turret's reputation, HAPPYFACES read it as such, and overreacted.
Yes, Turret has a bad reputation in here, and i agree that there are times in which some users go against him just for that and not for what he actually said(even tho i also agree with what Jorichi said up there), but...this wasnt the case. And neither there was something against Turret at all this time.
HAPPYFACES, exactly like you tell people to not go against Turret just cuz of his bad reputation, you should not go against someone who apparently went against Turret just cuz you think they did it cuz of his bad reputation.
And again, this is just my opinion on what happened this time, i have nothing against HAPPYFACES or anyone.

Thank you. I understand. Renhoek was the wrong guy to go off on, and I apologize for that. I was just thinking about all of the shit people normally go through in their daily lives, and somehow I connected that to Turret, started thinking about him and the flak he gets, be it deserved or not, then started getting angry. I interpreted Renhoek's post as an ambiguous retort towards Turret, and my shit hit the fan.

Because the forum has to keep up a professional reputation that no one else will ever see. [/sarcasm]
Probably because a few people here prefer it that way. I'm the guy who'd say "Learn to recognize when to be serious and when not to be serious." I don't think any of us get that, actually, myself included.

If all of Turret's jokes were as "meh" as that...

So what's been happening?

Edit: This isn't something that happens twice.
I meant "posts" not "jokes"
Maybe even "humorous content"
I don't know, I'm too tired to think.

That wasn't even a joke.
Anyway, I just recently did nothing. I could've sworn I had something to put there.
Wait...
No. My comic's aren't recent...

I've been playing those strategy "AI action" Pikmin games in countdown of Pikmin 3 since 42 days to US launch.
Why is it that I'm the only one on this forum that plays the Pikmin games? (In general?)

I've only played 1 completely, 2 only a bit. I don't know if I will get 3, haven't really thought about it.

I was thinking of setting one up, but I'd rather have a server that's online 24/7.
If there are no other alternatives, and a few people here that want to join, I will consider doing it.

I never got into Pikmin (I still have the original game though) I couldn't get past the second level (I was like 8 at the time) because I'd feel absolutely awful every time I saw the a pikmin die and the 30 Day time limit thing freaked me out... Yet a giant moon that's about to crush me in 3 days and all the work I've done will be undone every time I reset time that's perfectly fine for me.

After seeing the Nintendo Land game, I've decided to label it as "Probably a really good game like Earthbound, but I won't get it anyway."

I wouldn't judge the game because of how it's presented in nintendo land.
the Luigi's mansion mini game is an example of this (not saying it's bad I'm saying it's played completely differently).

Yes, but the Pikmin game seems to have some type of resemblance to everything else I've seen about Pikmin.
Luigi's Mansion game was just really far off, but it did involve flashing a light on a ghost in a "creepy" mansion.

And Turtley, what did that have to do with what you quoted?

I think he's still pissed at Shadowlord, but I'm unsure.
Also I was lucky enough to purchase Cube World, but I haven't been able to play it, though. Cube World doesn't work too well with Intel / On-Board graphics cards and is fairly buggy in WINE.

This is probably one of the most civilized arguments I've seen on the internet, I'm amazed

Though I honestly can't be arsed to read the whole thing.
