If you do it that way, its everything to 1.

Everything has 10 characters
10 has 2 characters
2 has 1 character
1 has 1 character.

But if you type it out, like they said, it is everything to four:

Everything has ten letters
Ten has three letters
Three has five letters
Five has four letters
Four has four letters.
