Tournament Chart:
Image

________________________________________________

Just for fun, i arranged a tournament for the best players on stabyourself.net!
And every match will be saved as a replay (if possible) for you to enjoy!

Closed due to wi-fi shutdown, we'll come back soon for smash bros 4 though!

________________________________________________

How the tournament works:
Each round will have to consist of 3 minute 1v1 duels with a referee on a random melee map, with all items enabled (except final smash) at the medium setting.
Winner out of 2 rounds moves up in the chart!

________________________________________________

Fighters:
Terrifying TripleXero!

Super Flutter Skye!

Fast like Lightningfire!

Camewel came well!

Positive B-Man99! < Replaced by Think_with_Coins

TurretBot from the opera! < Replaced by Jayden "ItsPyromaniac"

Master of all art, Idiot9.0!

The amazing JPthisismefag! < Replaced by SauloFX

________________________________________________

Q&A:
Q: Whats the prize?
A: A small game and trophy avatar made just for the winner!

Q: What about a losers prize?
A: Just the fun of having played with others!

Q: Will all this be done in a day?
A: No. Matches start when the two opponents are ready, which could be whenever.

Q: Doesn't that mean the tournament could go on forever?
A: Absolutely not, one non-starting match is not going to halt the whole tournament completely!

Q: Why not mkwii?!
A: Between brawl and mkwii, brawl's the best game i would prefer for tournaments.
Its not like you can't play mkwii anymore, go on and share friend codes if you wanna play with others that badly!

________________________________________________

Replays:

It would be greatly appreciated if you could put any replay files to video!

TripleXero Vs. Flutter Skye:
You can watch these replays from your very own Wii!
Place in SD:/private/wii/app/RSB[X]/rp/
Download!

Pikachu = TripleXero
Mario = Flutter Skye
Jigglypuff = Hatninja (referee)
LightningFire Vs. Camewel:
Round 1:

Round 2:

Sorry, the real replays weren't saved this match!

I'd gladly play if I can get the internet working on my Wii
I'll talk to you on steam about it
For now you can put me on the list though! :)

I think mario kart wii would be better for an online tournament. (unless Camewel cheats cuz he haz haxzez)

I'd enter but I need to know more about the time this sort of thing's happening. Because it may be at a time I'm unavailable.

not to be arrogant but I would win without any hacks so what's the incentive?

Fine abusing map and item block layout whatever floats your boat.

But seriously I am still interested in doing something with the community outside of mari0 and minecraft.

I've been thinking of running a Pokemon tournament but don't know how many people have X/Y and don't want to have it split over many different versions. But yeah, having community things would be great.

Isn't there a online pokemon battle simulator?
I'd say try using that so no one has an excuse for why they couldn't battle. (plus I'm waiting for the almighty version they always release for these.)

Any good steam games a lot of us have? I'm on steam all the time, as a lot of you know already. I would love to play steam games with people from Stabyourself. I already do, and it's always a blast. If somehow I missed you when friending the people from SYS, just let me know :)

I just got a new copy of Brawl, so I'm ready for this (My old one had weird white spots in it and crashed when Yoshi or Zero Suit Samus was picked, storymode was played, or online...). I'll add and post stuff later today. If you wanna just add me in to the random thing before hand, I'm 100% in, just not at home

When everyone adds your friend code, and we're all set and ready.

To be honest, I'm probably going to lose, since I've been getting used to Project M's high gravity. After this, I'd like to do the same with Project M, since my Lucario skills are so much better in it.

I agree, project m would be perfect!
But for the first tournament, i'll just use regular brawl.
Gotta make sure this works out well!

Both of you have to decide when you're going to fight, so hat can work things out. Message each other about it, and then post the time here.

why on earth is there only one match available, there are 8 people so you can easily have 4 matches pending at once

It gives something to look forward to, and enough pressure to play.
Maybe i'll add another match to speed things up.

Actually yeah you should just say all the pairs now to speed things up. The first pairs to be ready are the first to fight.

Awww gee thanks for the compliments
For some reason I thought of a battery, and then I thought about what I would be like in battery form
What's cool is how like the positive side is me being happy a lot, and the negative side would be all of my sarcasm and grim humor xD
...Wait does this even count as a valid response on topic to the thread wow

But yeah I'm glad the tournament's all set up! :) I'll talk to you and Turret on steam and hopefully we can set something up soon.
Anyone have any favorite characters to play as? Just curious, I mean Hatninja's is a bit obvious. Or should we keep it a secret until after the matches?

I'm going with either Bowser, Toon Link, Ice Climbers or Yoshi. Most probably Bowser.

I'm probably going to go with Pit because I use his flying abilities a lot and the ways he uses the bow are really useful in my opinion.

He does, since he has to see the winner and save the replay. Btw, if any of you want to fight with me, MSG me with your friend code and I'll add you. I play both Brawl and Project M, but mostly Project M.

I'm essentially available pretty much all the time if something doesn't come up.
So, a lot of free time.

The mere mention of this pink puff ball will strike fear into everyone's eyes!

Not that i don't trust you guys, but anybody could change the rules around.
It also would take a while to get replay proof of the winner.
And even then, you can lie about who you were. Nicknames don't get saved to replays.

It's generally going to be much quicker if its going through a referee such as me.

who the fuck cheats in a for-fun tournament in a small community when there isn't even a big prize

I really wish there would be a spectator mode, so I could watch them live. But I guess I'll just stick in the online lobby waiting for it to end.

EDIT: Congrats to Flutter Skye for the win!

I don't really know how this is working, because the first round Skye won because you got knocked out and Skye got a point for that

It was fun, but I request a rematch with TripleXero, because he was lagging, and playing when someone is lagging is unfair.

Okay yeah, there are huge problems...

Changing things around. I should no longer have 300% damage, thus making it nearly impossible to kill me.
And now its 3 minutes instead of 2, increasing funage!

If the lag is constant, that's all my fault, and any win for that should count for you, and I accept that, but that first round shouldn't have counted

I haven't gotten my internet re-hooked up yet but I'll be able to play Turret soon I promise
Also next week works great for anyone (potentially, if I beat Turret) playing me because it's winter break
As long as I can get this internet incompatibility issue thing resolved soon

Also I got ninja'd by LightningFire but I was just about to say that I prefer stock! What a coincidence
