If it doesn't fit elsewhere, it should go here

Does anyone here have any interesting thoughts on the recent cancellation of Fez 2?

I can understand why he cancelled it.
He took 4/5 years just to make FEZ, and is probably stressed with how he's had to remake the game and gotten all the hate from everyone. And not every game should have a sequel, that way it will be remembered as one unique game.

I think this was a good move. Now he can make something else.
If he will.

Between this and the death wishes over an update to Black Ops 2, I'm not sure what to think of the video game community at large anymore.

I think it probably wouldn't have taken as long since the engine was already built. No idea though since cancelled development. I'm pretty sure this message is phil fish retiring from the gaming community though. Even if it might just be a publicity stunt.

Wow, didn't see that before. COD users are stereotyped for that though they just pushed it to the limit. The gaming community can be incredibly hostile, though most online communities can witch hunt others.

Never seen the game before.
What is the controversy? (why do people hate on it?)

Hopefully this sums it up for you.

I haven't even beaten fez (mainly because that blood red sea makes me not want to see the true ending) so finding out the sequel is cancelled didn't really bother me.
EDIT: I just read that article above and it reminded me of a kid saying he was going to make a kirby game only to say he's cancelling it two posts later because his mom wouldn't get him a 3DS.

Basically this. I hear the guy's a dick and Fez wasn't really that fun so eh.

Meh, not really caring that the sequel got canned. Haven't even played Fez (though it's something I want) so I wasn't even aware that a sequel was being made.

Though it's really the guy's loss for cancelling it. Obviously there's a lot of people who would've bought it, and that means money for him. Kinda screwing himself over there.

In all honesty, I don't even want to play Fez just because of Phil. Some of my friends have suggested and it looks interesting but I got turned off from it by all wacky news that revolve around Phil

Scroll through that list of comments, see what words are there enough for you to see them when they're going by at high speed. Then see why I say a lot of people are jerks.
