The next generation game in the Pokemon series, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, have been announced for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is the first in the core Pokemon series to have full 3D graphics rather than sprites. Read more here:

I have to say, I'm pretty excited for this one. The new Pokemon look fantastic and the 3D environments are excellent. What are your thoughts?

I think the pokemon series are a lot overrated, they are all the same and i don't find anything new than the other versions.
But i think the graphics are pretty good for a portalable device.

3DS so far has had a lot of disappointing games but this one is surely too big to fail.
Very much looking forward to this one. Somewhat amazed that the most visually impressive game of the console so far is a Pokémon title.

please tell me you know what the X and Y in the names mean right?
anyway I'm glad they're going for the full 3D approach it makes it look completely different to all the other DS pokemon titles. (even though the spin off titles did it first but come on they're spin offs)

Gen 1 and 2 ftw.
Also, I wonder what pokemon they will have. (Assuming it's Gen 6)
They already pretty much ran out of names for Gen V

I stopped at gen 4 but gen 2 is my favorite... Also I still haven't beat the game (currently playing the remake and stuck trying to catch that damn golden bird)rokit boy wrote:Gen 1 and 2 ftw.

I lost my save for both Crystal and Ruby, I had emulators on my phone with the roms. My phone freaked out and deleted EVERYTHING.xXxrenhoekxXx wrote:I stopped at gen 4 but gen 2 is my favorite... Phones can't freak out and they don't normally wipe themselves.

By that I meant that it made a wierd sound turned off, after I turned it on a weird menu popped up with a couple of selections, I chose something like start. All my apps, games and even my sent items were deleted.Camewel wrote:Phones can't freak out and they don't normally wipe themselves.

I read about this, and I can't wait!
They confirmed the names of the two legendary Pokemon in the trailer.
The blue one is called Xerneas (pronounced ZURR-nee-us) and the red one is called Yveltal (pronounced ee-VELL-tall).
Very... Interesting names.

This one seems more like a platformer than the others. seems to be they said "Oh this is like SMB, the games are almost all the same" and changed it a lot, but not too much. It's hard to do that, but it looks like they managed it.Matu_Il_Mito wrote:I think the pokemon series are a lot overrated, they are all the same and i don't find anything new than the other versions.
