Does your foot have a mind of it's own?

This is an interesting physiogical neurolgoy anomaly.
Here are the steps:
In a sitting position, lift your right foot, and make clockwise circles with it.
Then with your right hand, make a 6 or 8 with your finger.
Your foot will change directions, and there's nothing you can do about it.

When you can train yourself to stop doing that you'd be an awesome helicopter pilot.
That's what they tell me though... I could see (kind of) why....

Yeah, you're doing it wrong. You're meant to trace the shape in the air with one finger.

funny thing is that I think it happens because your foot doesn't have a mind of its own - it's because the right part of the (peripherous ?) nerval system is linked all the way through that this phenomenon happens. If your foot had a mind of its own it could turn around and not care about your hand :P

I hate to be a dick about it, but can you read? xDLightningFire wrote:This is an interesting physiogical neurolgoy anomaly.

I know you can train yourself to stop doing that. Although you will look stupid practicing...
I managed to do it. For some people it might take a while, for others it can be instantly.
So it's not hardwired through nerves or whatever just wired in your brain, and that means you can rewire it through training.

I don't understand, what did I missed there?
look here's what I did
I sat down and did a clockwise motion with my foot,
with my arm out I did a 8 and 6 motion with my finger,
and my foot did not change direction.
That's what I did
did I miss something?

I got you wrong (I was referring to your picture), my bad. You did it right though...
You either did not notice that your foot starts turning counterclockwise while you do it, or you just aren't affected by this phenomenon.
