Oh, and yeah, I love how the drawing turned out. I was actually thinking about learning how to draw like you, but after I drew a simple face, I realized it wasn't really my thing.
I really like how you create OCs, it's so easy and creative. Also, I'm not quite sure what his talent can be, but for his personality, it's pretty much how I am in reality. I have mixed emotions, but the one that stands out the most is calmness. I stay calm all the time, even in desperate moments (not that I've had that many). I'm also shy and anti-social, even if LF doesn't look like it.
And don't worry, I understand completely.
Drawing ponies isn't hard at all (one of the reasons why I like doing it so much). You just need to try and get their key features right. And I lose my patience every once in a while too, that's just part of drawing. But try to keep at it if you really want to be able to do it. Drawing doesn't require talent, it just requires practice and time.
Start with copying an existing pony image, without tracing it.
I always felt like drawing a 'how to draw ponies' thing. I might just do it sometime if people want me to.
But about your OC; I 'm quite busy lately and have a few requests pending. But I sometimes squeeze in a doodle, so if you like I could make a few different takes at your OC. I drew your OC in Smp2's request as a happy, competitive (in a playful way) and active stallion. Which resulted in the image I posted; Short and curling up hair (like a calm fire), same goes for the tail. For the color; I like the orange and red in the mane and tail, but I would go with a different color for the coat as it might be a bit too bland. The pony creator can give you a really good idea of how color might work out on your OC, but it isn't the tool for making a unique OC...
As for talent and personality: I'm sure you can come up with something cool. I have no doubt in that. But I am curious about his cutie mark and talent.
If not, there is quite a lot to work with in this particular area.

Jorichi, you must notice how terrible my color scheme is...
I need it changed.
If you watch the show from a technical point, you'll see that almost all ponies are very colorful and saturated. They are very bright and pleasing to the eye.
Once I get started to coloring your OC from the sketch I made, I can give you several color pallets to give you a few examples on what might work nicely.
For example you could change his coat color to the color of the hooves. Or/And make the colors of the hair fit the coat. The other way around might work too.
Colors aren't my strongest point, I usually get inspired by things around me or that have to do with the pony's character and talent. Just trying colors out is the best way to find good colors.
One thing in general: If your OC was a background character, would it stand out too much or fit the scene? If it fits the scene; I think you have a good character.
If it stands out too much, you might have over done it. But this is just my opinion.
