I went to go play Super Mario Kart last night, when I saw my Wario's Woods. http://www.mariowiki.com/Wario%27s_Woods(I'm using the NES version)
So I decided to give it a try, when a simple test of skill turned into what felt like breaking the world record.
I plowed through 40 stages of that puzzle-type game, spending about an hour and a half, and I still hadn't run out of lives. It was almost 2 anyway, so I went to bed.

I do have to say this, though: It's a great game. It plays similarly to, say a Dr Mario game, but with individual colors instead and all enemies start out on the ground. There's that, and then you can't move the falling bombs (which may be in place of pills) until they land, where Toad can then pick them up. It's a really fun game, and it would be nice to have more.

Anyone else get the game?
Or another hidden game that's fun?

Alesan99 apparently likes Vectorman, which from what I saw, actually does look cool.
Anyways, I thought I should post this here, considering there are people that still don't know about this.

Me and four others (Doormat, WillWare, Automatik, and TurretBot) are working on a Mari0: SE downloads site, titled exactly that.
It will have downloads for mappacks, mods, characters, tilesets, and more. It will also have sorting options on all of the download pages.
There will also be links to the forum thread where the item came from, a mirror download (from MEGA), a 1 minute video, as well as a assortment of screenshots.
You can check out progress on the blog, which can be found here. On the latest post, it also has a little information about joining the team if you would like to join it. http://itsforstabyourselfwebsitedev.tumblr.com/
Here's an image from the blog of the site:

I'm posting the site for everyone to know here, but I'll later make a thread for it in the Mari0 subforum (or Mari0: SE subforum if there will be one), where you can request stuff, or just post there in general.

gah, this is tempting:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f3a7/

I want a Wii U Pro Controller for Mario Kart 8, and the advertised Wii Classic Controller would actually let me play mario Kart 64 with a friend.
Should I get it?
(it's on sale, too.)

I ordered it. I am now an entrepreneur.

And instead of paying in the cash that I have, my parents are accepting chores.
Lots of chores.
It's probably a faster way to earn money than normal, though.

Plus it's something to actually do instead of playing 6 hours of Mario Kart Wii.

Sorry to suddenly overshadow you, Bazzvie.
A topic change that's overly sudden isn't fun, and neither is being ignored.
But at least you have a thread for that.

You should have let me post first I was just about to tell you my experience.

I actually got one shortly after getting my wii u,
it doesn't act like a proper wii u pro controller, it's basically a wii controller with a switch to change it to a wii classic controller shaped like a wii u pro controller and it's really awkward to hold if you only want to use the classic pad on it.
The control sticks, + and - buttons feel stiff too.

The plus side though is that it works for both the wii u and the wii and there's two different control methods so there's that. But personally I don't think it was worth it.

Aw dang

Oh well, it's another classic controller and I would have gotten one anyway from ebay or something.
Edit: I just realized that it looks like it has 2 start and select / + and - buttons...
Edit Again: I also realized that it said nowhere that it was a Wii U Pro Controller.
That it was only a Wii Remote/Classic Controller...

When it's in Wii remote mode, does it have a 'nunchuck' attached to it?
Ex. You can control Super Mario Galaxy with it?

There's no socket for it but I'm assuming it would work seeing as it has 2 thumb sticks (I'm assuming)
Also I seriously doubt that it looked like a wii u pro controller by mistake.

I got a Mayflash Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter and it works fine
The thing is its not officially licensed by Nintendo so it basically tricks the wii u into thinking its the classic controller
there is a bunch of hanging wires too but other than that its fine.

Edit: Also my friend said it is compatible with the wave bird too so thats cool.

Yeah, that's the next thing I saw after the Pro U controller or whatever it is.
And then the first thing I imagined doing with it was with the wavebird controllers...
I mean, I have 5 GameCube controllers and using those are probably a better option than getting a crappy controller.

But as I was saying, I really wanted something to the likes of a Wii U Pro Controller AND a classic controller- one for multiplayer Mario Kart (both 64 and SNES), and the other for a smooth Mario Kart 8.
I mean, the gamepad looks fine, but it's not exactly something that I want to spend all of my super-excited moments clutching.

I read somewhere though that Mario Kart 8 won't support the Classic Controller, but on the eShop it claims that you can use the Classic Controller Pro.
Which probably means using the Classic Controller, albeit without 2 buttons that I'm pretty sure won't be used at all.

I dislike Nintendo dropping support for the Classic Controller- yes, the Pro is what they're replacing it with, but the Pro Controller is not compatible with the Wii Virtual Console.

Edit: Happy 600 posts to me...

So anyways, I'm getting a new saxophone because the one I've used was secretly an 11-year old piece of shit.
So anyways,² Pony Story 2. With dramatic rule tweaks so we're all on the same page, besides, it's a better time because now we are in a time of prosperity and peace (for the most part, at least we don't have the dumbass "troll" who shat all over my thread with pictures of commonly socially unacceptable hot dogs on a stick covered in fried bread and.. other ..extremely unnecessary devastations, such as killing off characters and everto ex machinas, much in the manner of Steven Moffat.)
Also, new "fun" rules.
So anyways,ª Awesome Bros. is smoothly running along, or will be soon. Whatever you imagine.

There's a dump of thoughts, what do you guys think?

That's partly correct. Each console is powerful, but only by how well the developers took part in its development. The Wii was good by Nintendo standards, PS2 good by Sony standards, and so on. It's just a matter of opinion when you say one is better than the other.

PS2 was actually the weakest console of its generation. Most people, when comparing the Gamecube and the PS2, look at the games, and that's harder to justify without bias. I know several people who like the Gamecube more and several others who like the PS2 more. It's mostly just opinions in the end. I personally prefer the Gamecube, but that's because I grew up with it.

I would agree. Some games on PS2 aren't that great looking, but I still like it regardless since it really is my one non-Nintendo console. Grew up with the '64 and NES. Good stuff. I never really played Gamecube except at a friend's house on his Wii to play those games.

EDIT: Rokit ninja'd

Probably look where it was installed. I'm not entirely sure though. Maybe the have the sprites at TSR?

It's a matter of games.
PS2 had more 3rd party developer support, which means the PS2 hadmore games than the GCN(majority was 1st or 2nd party), more than 3500 for PS2, less than 800 for GCN. That made the PS2 more popular and successfull, leading to more games being made for it, making it even more popular.
GCN games' support ended in 2007/08, PS2 ended in 2013: PS2 has more recent games.
More games = wider choice of games.
PS2 games are more mature[*] than GCN ones, causing the GCN to have less support, both by developers and customers. Nintendo would never allow games like God Of War or Grand Theft Auto on their console, making the customers' choice of games limited to what they wanted them to play. There are a few exceptions, like Resident Evil.
[*] this is not my opinion, or an opinion at all, that's how specialized personnel and console companies themselves defined their games, more/less mature.

In term of raw power, the GCN was more powerful and easier to program for, but the PS2 gave more programming freedom(with more difficulties) to developers, leading to better(techincally) PS2 games being released in the 2nd part of it's lifespan.

If you're a Nintendo fan and enjoy basically all of their 1st/2nd party games(mario, zelda, metroid, kirby, smash bros, pokemon), then get a GCN with no hesitation.
If you want to play more different games with a wider range of generes/type of game, not being bonded with specific franchises, get a PS2.

I'm confused. If you have a wii then why are you asking about a GameCube?

Also I played on the GameCube that my mother stole from me a lot more than the PS2 that my mother stole from my sister gave to me and then stole from me before she stole them from me
But then again the PS2 had Ape Escape 3
Tough choices. Tough choices.

Then it's a matter of what's the "better" definition in this specific case...
Better graphics? GCN
More powerful? GCN
Better controls? PS2 to me(and to the majority), but it's opinable.
Better game support by developer companies? PS2
What's the best for programmers to code game for? To me it's a tie: GCN was easier but gave less controll over how some things were done in details, and most had to be done in the specific ways Nintendo decided, on the other side the PS2 was way more difficult to code for, but gave extremely detailed control over every single aspect of the code, each thing could be achieved in different ways and it was up to the developer to decide how.
Quantity of games? PS2 hands down.
Quality of games? Depends on what players like and want from games, so no winner.
Better games? It's a matter of tastes, really...look at my previous post about it.
Better overall(including popularity, success, reliability, winner of its generation regardless its power)? PS2 hands down.

To clarify, I'm not being a grammar nazi this time, it's just that not once have you (Skye) ever used a possessive pronoun so I'm assuming it's one of those weird translation things

Also you should tell him that his opinion is irrelevant, go all existential, and psychologically assess the worth of the subject, while secretly BS'ing the whole thing
That's what I did to my cousin when he told me that iPad games were better than PC games
Well, that and stealing his iPod and putting it right underneath a controller hooked up to my PC with Spelunky running
Still, much better revenge than if I had gone with instinct told him how wrong he was and punched him in the shoulder while putting 200 cringe videos on his iPod

Go Gamecube all the way!

I own 2 Gamecubes, 5 controllers, a Gameboy Player, a Gamecube-Game Boy Port, a Mic, two of those DK barrel controllers, and so on.
Aside from the stuff that I was too little to buy, I really enjoyed the Gamecube for it's games. The games are what I keep coming back to play- Pikmin 2, Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and so on. Unfortunately, I have no idea where games like Metroid Prime and TTYD ended up. I hope to find them one day in my garage.

I never really experienced the PS2, as far as I know... yeah. I might have played it once or twice.
I'm sure it was a good system, (and others have their opinions) but I enjoyed the games on the Gamecube more than any other system out there.
Especially the Wii.
These are all opinions, but opinions are what Flutter Skye asked for, and I'm providing my (biased) opinion.
I am not a completely Nintendo-based fan. I also enjoyed the PS3 and the PC more than ever.

I haven't really had much experience with the GCN, so yeah.

No offense, even cuz you clearly said yours it's a biased opinion, so you know what you're saying, but...that's not an opinion on which one is better between GCN or PS2, but just an opinion on how good the GCN was for you...you said you never really experienced the PS2, so you can't possibly have an opinion on which one was better.

I do own both and from my experience I had a lot more fun with my cube then I did with my PS2.
But that could be because I owned most of the worth while titles on the game cube such as Smash bros, Kiby's airide, PMTTYD (fuck sticker star btw), Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Mario Kart Double Dash (my favorite Mario Kart), Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 (before I got the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the wii which I love), Mario Party 4 and 5, Zelda Four Swords Adventure, Pokemon Colosseum and Super Mario Sunshine.

and didn't play much on the PS2 outside of KH, KH2, Rayman revolution, a Rachet and Clank demo (I watched my brother play the actual game), a spin off for Rachet and Clank, Ape escape 2 (I think it was 2) and one of those gimmicky eyetoy games (witch still has better technology then the kinnect).

I will always love the GameCube because of its handle.
It's the most fuck*ng innovative thing I've ever seen in my life.
