I think the forum's slowly dieing out,
with the amount of bad posts and one time posters thread bumpers people being proud of being banned or breaking rules ect.

The thing is, there really isn't anything interesting to do for all of us. But I'm still not leaving for a while.

With the forum slowely withering away, I guess you could say it's the dark ages of Stabyourself Forum.

If Maurice had custom updates instead of SE...
Either we'll get a bigger crowed with SE, or less a crowd than 1.6 release...
I don't know. Depends on if people still have an interest in Mari0.
SE was a good idea, but Maurice waited too long. The suspense made the project seem like it would never be finished.
If he had constant updates, people would be using new features in maps, updating mods, more people would be joining the forums, I would check Stabyourself.net itself more often....

There's a difference between waiting to long to do something and doing something that takes a long time.

Pyro loves a good proverb
Just kidding
I said that maurice waits too long, but he said he wasn't waiting.
I feel it's kind of like this:

Maurice gives us constant updates at first, but then makes us wait before we can have more to eat.

Realease a bunch of games at the console's release that use all the features, then only use like two or three of said features later.

Maybe my knowledge is slim, but I observed a slow of traffic for Mari0 since SE took so long. Everyone was waiting in suspense, but humans just can't take it...

Either that was a horrible joke or you really suck at math.
Lets say that a person is really excited to get on the forum. So they make an account, and after a week they have 100 posts. 100/7 = 14.29, so you could say that they about 14.29 posts a day when they just varied amount or posts from day to day.

So I'm wrong. I apologize and am willing to accept that.
The forums, however, have less incentive for the active forum members to stay.
There would be more frequent maps and more mod updates.
I have based my knowledge on the forums, which doesn't seem to speak for Mari0 in total.
The more active members of the forums are suffering, however.
We have stayed around, but no longer for Mari0 (for many at least).
EDIT: I will point out that the flow of traffic is less steady, though...

An activity drop is to be expected. Mari0 and Not Tetris 2, which are by far the most popular, last had updates a while ago, and most that want to comment on Mari0 development just use Disqus in the blog. And a lot of forum regulars also stay in IRC these days, so most active discussions probably happens there.
Additionally, the high amount of ponies may cause some visitors to not register on the forums. That won't change though.
You have to consider that nowdays forums are a bit out of fashion for majority of internet users. One reason being that there's relatively less people with above average computer competency (as those were generally forum/mailing list/whatever members), another would be social media, which allows people to just take small glances and projects they follow and not actually engage in the community.
Still, we have a community now. Before the forums, there wasn't any place anyone playing Mari0 or any other game could ask for help or suggest things, other than email. Facebook and twitter, those we only really use to broadcast new blogposts. We could have just focused on Facebook, or Twitter (though twitter doesn't really allow such communities, or at least makes them harder, since it's a more "invididual to individual", or "individual to masses" type of community), or perhaps just used reddit as a main discussion platform. The advantage to those communities is that people already have accounts in most cases and can just drop by, while as far as a forum is concerned, people have to invest some time to actually get here.
By now I forgot what I'm even writing about.

They weren't really paying attention, that's all.
So, my cousin has a tablet, which has a Minecraft demo, so I tried it out, and I loved it. I actually made Mario, Luigi and myself in there. I would like to post pics, but I can't.

I think the forums are dying of lack of interesting stuff. The forum games got boring, contests are an extremely good solution, but they are very short-term. There is a whole buch of other problems but I don't feel like answering them.
