Well Maurice, you made the original Mario Bros. Why not make a Super Mario, Minecraft mix? That picture you posted could really become a whole other game. People go crazy for game crossovers, like that one game, what's it called? Oh ya, Mari0.

I like the idea of the feature but I think it would only work as a level editor not a new game (I get bored of minecraft sometimes... really fast)
I think it should be a feature not a stand alone game.

Perhaps you could take the source and mod it into what you described. After all i think that's what Maurice would like you to do with the source in the first place!

Just because I've been curious about the idea myself, I'll throw out my two bits like the newbie so-and-so I am. 2-D remixes have been very interesting to play with, lately. The ultrasound perspective allows for very intricate patterns. Things like, you know Mari0. Playing Portal this way is very different. Doing this with Minecraft seems only natural.
I think it would be really interesting to see a RTS that operated on this principle. The stage is a huge array of carefully placed patches blocks like MineCraft, but in the 2D plane. Now, mining materials means digging through.. As to what's on the other end, the possibilities there are endless.
So how about a game of defend your castle? You build the platforms, You place the enemies you capture and send to the other side. If it can work, and with enough added rules to make it balanced fix the broken bits, playing this online MultiPlayer would be out of sight. It could be done in rounds, or what have you.
Or how about something more traditional? Blocks which cannot be removed form the framework of the level, and the game becomes manipulating the materials you can harvest and apply. And there are the usual puzzle possibilities with the right use of physics. Say, a steam-bomb puzzle, or something. I'm winging this post right now.

Mine craft mode is already in the game. Welcome, Zexyz!
I'm pretty sure that Zexyz's post was important, but it was tl;dr

I would say with a basic knowledge of Love2d and such, it is possible to copy the lua's code and make a game, discarding the ASHPD...

Mariocraft (Or, Minecraft) is already in the game. Just enter the Konami code at the main menu, and go to Cheats, and change the gamemode to Minecraft.Automatik wrote:Imho, It's not a great idea. It's not because smb is fun and Minecraft is fun that mario craft will be fun.
The Konami code is UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A.
This topic was made before Mari0's release too.

I know about that, but the minecraft mode is more a joke.
(also, sorry, I assumed the latest post was recent without really looking at the date : it was the first topic in the list.)

So now that I'm there, I'm watching The Super Retro Squad video, And I get the sudden urge to make a meme with his face. I don't know how long he'll last before I make the meme... Probably not very long! (XD)Legend_of_Kirby wrote:If you guys want a good mario crossover go to http://www.explodingrabbit.com
