I decided to reinstall Mari0 after a while, and when I started it up, after the SY.COM logo, the game crashed with this error:

menu.lua:1199: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

Why does this happen? I've ran the game every time and it's never crashed right after the Stabyourself logo! Also I just fresh installed the game!

Your background map is corrupt or you removed a mappack while it was the selected one.
Easiest way to solve the issue is to remove the mari0 data folder. See "Accessing the save folder" here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=246
