It seemed he was awfully endorsing it. He just acted like that's the way it is.
But it isn't.
Grammar nazi's are annoying and I'm willing to bring this all the way to the far right of Camewel's graph.
I'm sorry I only just noticed this, but to all extents I agree that constant correcting creates a negative image of elitism. John was just rude about hating Grammar Nazis, which to me is unnecessary. You see, without proper grammar, things will start falling to shit. Our language will deteriorate into a load of grunts and mumbles. So as long as there are people who respect the structure (For the most part. I do fail to use "whom" A lot. But who cares?) of the language most of us are taught since birth, we can at least have a complete, coherent conversation with someone.
Also, when a Grammar Nazi constantly sees "your" instead of "You're" in the context where "You're" is intended, the feeling of annoyance is pretty much mutual. I mean come on... I understand it's not a damn essay, but are you really too lazy to add a couple extra characters when you're typing on a full keyboard? For the record, I don't constantly correct people. I still hate it though. I hate it soooo much that the language I grew up with is being butchered every damn day by degenerates that believe they're so high and mighty and don't need to write an "Essay" on the internet. That's just lazy! Lazy lazy la-
Sorry, I'm fucking doing it again.
Anyways... I have a tough time learning other languages... Especially ASL. So, you know... I like to be good at the only language I know.
