Firstly; sorry for the necrobump thingy, been away from the forums for a little bit thought I'd give this a bit of an update. As far as server costs go, it can add up. I only had the server up for around ~3 months, so it only made it to $30 bucks. $30 bucks to hangout with friends in a cool game seemed decent. And seeing as I don't have a cell phone bill to pay, I have spare change to blow.

Also using something like Feed the Beast or Tekkit might be a better option to mods and such. Full packages that are easy to get. You can even string together your own package of mods with FTB and Tekkit if you don't wanna use the pre-made ones.
Perhaps. I don't have a dedicated machine I can use to run a server and still play on it myself. I used to, then it overheated. If/when I restart this, FtB and Tekkit are both definitely options. It's real tricky decide whether or not to run mods; namely you can't use them with all the cool new stuff, and they can be daunting to players unfamiliar with them.

Server's long gone, for now at least. Ucenna's also familiar with the whitelist feature so I wouldn't worry about his exactness.
I'm all minecrafted out at the moment, perhaps I'll return to it after a break and another server can be started. Usually; if I'm having trouble adding a new username I'll find the UUID code for it; least that's what I did to add the old minecrafters to the whitelist, and how I figured out who was who whenever they changed their username.
