I was informed that there was shitposting going on, and I have to say, I'm really disappointed. As a shitposter, I do not condone the actions of these parasites. A true poster of shit does exactly that and earns their title through hard work and dedication. As my friends who complained to me about this problem pointed out, the users who apparently plague us now did not set out to earn anything. They are here to take from us. They are not contributing any shit of their own, they are simply fostering our livelihoods and burning our water supplies, delivering crops unto our houses, only to steal by force and take advantage of others' gifts, hording the gifts for themselves so they can consume them and shit them out. I am a shitposter. I post shit. But damnit I pledged to only spew shit of my own, and to graciously create shitposts for the sake of something greater, rather than for personal gain.
That's it. This needs to become a copypasta pronto.
All jokes aside, I never saw you as a shitposter. You sound more intelligent when posting than other shitposters *cough*.
I had my complaints a few months ago when I saw this small crop of new accounts acting like TurretBot (you know who you are). I don't hate TurretBot. Not at all. I just hate when a new account tries to emulate his personality because then shitposting loses it's novelty and stops being funny.
When I first started to play Portal I never once thought of it as "polished". It wasn't exactly the best first impression to get from PC gaming. I'm not very surprised about all the bugs being found.
Nevertheless congratulations on finding all those bugs on your glitchathon, Hugo.
I take back what I said about Undertale. But after hearing about what Toby Fox is planning to do with the enormous amount of money he got from selling the game, I can't help but realize what a wonder the game is. I don't stand by what I said in the Unpopular Opinions thread anymore, Undertale is golden. But what the creator is working on now is horrendous.
I like both and hate the fnaf fandom. Why do I not hate the Undertale fandom? Because There's about 20% good content as opposed to about 0.001%, and I only observe that 20% good content, whose artists, youtubers and such have all moved on, and aren't still obsessing over it, whereas just about all the fnaf fandom is still obsessing over it.
Why do we have to have Fandoms? Can't we just play games or watch TV shows without getting so obsessed with them to the point where our entire life has to exclusively revolve around it?

No.
Although the point of the fandom, at least initially, was to appreciate and incorporate, not necessarily obsess over. Like- wear a pin rather than cosplay daily. You get your point across and can remain socially couth in doing so.
The whole "be yourself" bullshit I hear about all the time is a bit- eh. I'll save it for another thread.
"You're not being yourself" is paradoxical, as the mere choice of being more like someone or following a specific ideal or set of actions is on itself a volunteer action and a demonstration of one's true freedom put into action, even if their choice is to act in a manner that differs from what this person used to be, was expected to be or thought would be. You're always yourself, even when that means being more like someone (or something) else.
Oh shit, this is the Chat Room, not the Unpopular Opinions. I've been deceived! /s
Alright
First of all like at least 5 of those posts were abrasive, overly generic, and bait-y as hell.
That being said, just like when it comes to fishing, impulsive decisions in mystery shows, or other traps- it's alright to take the bait sometimes. So...
I didn't even have two cents. I spent all my money on bandcamp during one of the NyQuil streaks. To get this spare change I had to rob a homeless man.Of his hat. So i could street perform until someone gave me money.Probably thinking I had some sort of disability.
Point being, I worked hard and this is all I have. Sally you unappreciative bitch.
FNAF seemed kinda cool. I think the endless unpolished games rapid fire got old, but if I'm remembering correctly Scott realized that himself and dialed back, removing a game and taking time to polish it? Either way, they're neat games and I had fun playing them with friends a few times. Nothing groundbreaking, but because of the lore and insane popularity I can understand why others would care more than I do.
Undertale... uhhh... yeah... still need to make time to play that...
Whoops... What a save! What a save! Nice shot!
Oh, and as far as fandoms go, it seems kind of dumb to go and regard a huge group of fans as one entity when really they have just one interest in common and are all probably super diverse and act differently about it. Especially since you guys particular seem to be aiming towards the actions of a vocal minority. Do you like CatDog? That doesn't mean this is you. At least I hope not. Well, if it is you, congratulations - you have a wonderful legacy i could only dream of. But you also might need therapy. Cheers.
P.S. Y'all seem to be really good at coming up with accurate percentage representations. Could someone teach me how to estimate the difference between 50% and 90% of some kind of cult? Seriously! Sounds just like the politicians on TV! Please stop. The left side of my brain is going to bleed.

Wait, he announced some kind of new project...?
What's up? I didn't hear any news recently.

Well, as I am part of both the fandoms since as long as I can remember, the FNaF Fandom is definitely giving more good content than the Undertale fandom.

Either I am out of the loop, or what is he working on? Because all I know is that he plans to start something "new" this year.
On the subject of the FNaF fanbase, holy fuck is it terrible.
I literally spent hours trying to teach a group of fanboys that robots can't have genders. And don't even tell me about the crappy OC's. You know, the ones where they just take an image of Chica and use the Hue/Saturation tool in Paint.NET to change the color? And they all like the animatronics to be cute. It's like they forgot that FNaF was originally intended to be a horror game in the first place. And the porn! There are dead children inside those suits! That's pedophilia, necrophilia and zoophilia all rolled into one! They think it's sexy. I think it's disgusting.
It's weird how I hate the fanbases of so many things I like (apart from the KSP one). For example, the /r/gravityfalls community. I can't stand their meme criclejerking and the many shitposts you see there on a daily basis.
But eh, I don't know, I try avoiding and ignoring the fanbases I dislike.

Sex and Gender are two different things. And with that said, robots can have genders, the creator himself said that they do.
Wooo. Somehow this isn't blocked on the school wifi yet.
I can't access some .gov sites when I need to do research projects but here I am reading the statement "robots can't have genders" said so eloquently by "Villager103" while I'm in the middle of US History.
Also, I'm sorry to hear about your chronic amnesia Skye. But you know what they say about memory loss! Wait... what was it again? Damnit.
Flutter Skye wrote:Jokes on you, I remember the dates clearly. I joined the FNaF Fandom September 26th, 2012, and the Undertale Fandom October 12, 2016.
Is this a joke, or what? FNaF was made in 2014 and October 12, 2016 is in the future.
Villager, why must everything you say be so controversial and negative? You act like you're above all this fandom stuff and you start making fun what's popular with the people that are most likely in your age group. You're not cool for hating what's popular or being hipster or whatever. It's actually pretty annoying.
I might dislike Fandoms and wish they didn't exist, but I know they aren't going away. I know they aren't of lower intelligence because they get all hot and bothered when they see a picture of Fready fazbear and Sans together on DeveantART. I know they aren't shitty people because they make Gravity Falls fan art. It's just what fad they're into at that moment. They aren't all rabid 12 year old kids who drive people to suicide because they white wash their Steven Universe fan art or whatever (Google it).
You seem like a nice person, but it's almost like you're trying to different from everyone else.

I just don't understand why they are so goddamn popular. FNaF is a point and click horror game and Undertale is an RPG with a few extra elements. I don't see why they got so popular. Then again, I used to be a Minecraft fanatic.
I agree. FNaF and Undertale are extremely over rated. But it doesn't matter. You don't have to understand why they are both "so goddamn popular". It's a faze. It doesn't have to meet your expectations for a video game, and it shouldn't be bugging your personal life. It shouldn't matter how they both got popular because they just are.
The only reason why FNaF got popular was because popular YouTubers played it. Just like Minecraft, FlappyBird, etc. Continuing to shit talk both games and how their Fandoms are practically cancer won't kill them off, and if anything will make other people curious. If you're so interested in the rise of FNaF and Undertale just Google it. It's that simple.
Since Mariofan didn't say it:
Undertale is popular mostly because Toby Fox made it. He previously worked on Homestuck, so when the kickstarter for Undertale came along, there was already a sizeable amount of people to look at it and play the demo. And once he had that, Undertale was ready to spread across the internet, just like FNAF did the year before.
But, unlike Undertale, FNAF didn't get any money on its kickstarter. Scott didn't have a pre-existing audience. The game remained unheard of after its release - until (like Mariofan said) popular YouTubers started playing the game. Commenters spread it through all of YouTube, expanding its audience in the process.
Both spread through word-of-mouth. The difference is that Undertale had a lot of mouths and FNAF had a really big mouth. Or at least, that's my understanding of it.
He's planning to make a version of Undertale that's "realistic", in a style like Skyrim. He said he did the pixel art style because it was food for nostalgia, but now that he's got the money, he can start working on what he originally intended to do with the game.
What
Where did you hear that
That doesn't make sense and I really feel like I would have heard about it by now
I'm going to be blunt here no offense but I don't believe you could you please provide sources on that
if it's legit that's actually absurd and I don't know what to say besides wtf
