Okay, I looked over them again, and you're right.Camewel wrote:Of the 8, only 2 are the same (best artist and funniest).TurretBot wrote:All of the user awards are either the same or close to being so, except Kyle Prior as most likeable.
Of the remaining 6, in 4 of them (this is half for those of you on the slow bus), the previous winner didn't even rank in this year's results.
Wouldn't call that "the same or close" really.
But still. Half of the people were the same or almost the same. That's still not good. If you added some more categories for the new users (like I suggested) than we could've gotten some better results. We all know Saso was most funny and I don't need that information twice. There's no point of an awards ceremony if half the previous winners are there to shout "I got second!" and just be pointless entirely.

Two winners were repeated. Saso didn't win funniest either year. You are an idiot.
I'm not going to add categories for the sake of adding categories because then we'd have dumb ones like "MOST LIKELY TO BE WEARING A HAT" and "PERSON WHO RECEIVED THE MOST VOTES IN THIS CATEGORY" and no-one wants that.

(Dangit maurice make me able to remember what you've done and not done)
So make smart ones. You're smart and you know this because that's what the votes say. If you don't want to have one that's "MOST LIKELY TO BE WEARING A HAT" then don't make that.
And it's not really about new categories, it's about others never getting voted because of the popularity contest involved that causes lack of votes for them. So basically a category where you can't vote for the older members and only for the new users so they can actually get a shot at winning some of the "clearly he's going to win this one a third time" categories.

Most Potential is pretty new time.
I didn't even place in any of these. My name isn't up here. Why?
Because I didn't fit any of these categories (at least best).
I'm not upset about this, and I don't feel 'left out' because I didn't win.
Having more categories can be nice, but we really don't need to play the everyone's a winner. Then any people who do get left out feel even worse off.

There are awards for best coder, best mod and best game, they are interrelated. So i think you should add Best art.

Wouldn't "Best art" be to similar to "best artist"?Hans1998 wrote:There are awards for best coder, best mod and best game, they are interrelated. So i think you should add Best art.
also Why the hell hasn't anyone tried to become a character in that game, I want more than 2 playable characters and I need 3 more side characters... Actually I should probably work on the darn thing first.

Tell me, who won as best coder? and what mod won as the best? they are similar, too, the last year Turtle almost won the best coder award, and his game won as best game.renhoek wrote: Wouldn't "Best art" be to similar to "best artist"?

There's a subforum full of mods, as is there with games. There's just one topic with art. Artistic people will win the "best map" category anyway.Hans1998 wrote:There are awards for best coder, best mod and best game, they are interrelated. So i think you should add Best art.

It'd be good to not invest in that faith for long

I`d say you`d have better use for your faith by believing in the flying spaghetti monster.
All I`m saying is: it would be nice to have the title formally close voting by saying:
Stabyourself Awards 2013 [Voting Closed]
After all this is a semi-formal award ceremony for a formal vote.(Formal vote, as in, votes were anonymous, counted by a reliable source and people were recognized for their efforts.)
Also, having the winners posted up front in the first post for neatness would also be good.

Camewel, thank you. It seems like so often you say things that I thought to say but didn't have the guts to. You do a lot for these forums. Great job.

Mine was a joke, which shouldn't be taken literally. I am not a mean person if you get to know me. I am not sure if yours was a joke, it seemed like an insult. I'm sorry if i misunderstood you. All I'm doing is suggesting something that would keep this thread looking nice. If you digress and want to keep it oddly out of order, do so. i don't know you that well, but you didn't need to start insulting.Camewel wrote:drone36 wrote:I like when people respect one anotherjust put down the shovel and stop diggingdrone36 wrote:When you have seen people like, Supermarioportal2, wary, others.Camewel wrote:I have faith in this community that no-one is that stupid.

That doesn't really look like an insult to me.
More of just, "You aren't winning this, stop trying"
Don't take things harshly. Pretty much what I've learned. Be happy about everything and it's hard to bring you down.
Being upset doesn't help anyone.
Let's not post any more about this, and we'll all be happy, M'kay?
