I just searched for this when I saw this post and started playing. It is fun, a lot of fun. Brings back memories when I first played Super Mario World. I always wanted to make my own levels of Super Mario World and this allows me to do so as well.

I find that games with level editors included are always a bit more intriguing to me. I think it's because it allows for easy creativity. So far, I'm having trouble getting the level editor to work.. it gets all skippy and places stuff wherever my mouse is placed..
For anyone having trouble running this game on Windows at a reasonable frame rate without skipping, try this:
End the Firefox plugin container process and set the game's processor affinity to CPU 0..

(Except for the editor, this game works fine on my other computer which is a single core dinosaur.)

oh man this game was awesome I even have a custom map I'm working which I haven't bothered with recently,
shame regit decided to quit (I believe he lied about a cease and desist order for the website (super mario bros.org) not the actual game) and moved on to terraria.

didn't think anyone else cared.

I thought that Nintendo "asked" them to remove every things that involve this game? Like download links, videos, etc.
Still have the game since 2 years ago though

same
some people (like me) believe he misread it (or lied) because he never showed the cease and desist order,
and I'm sure they just wanted the domain name. Not the game

If I had as much enthusiasm as when I maked battle levels, I would. But when my computer crashed and all my files were deleted, I lost all hope in SMBX..... until now.

OKAY! HERE IS A CHALLENGE!!!!!
So, make a 1 screen level (small level with no scrolling)
Have AT LEAST ONE shell generator that will constantly shoot shells left or right.
add slopes to make those shells go flying around......

NO RAINBOW SHELLS ALLOWED!!

Anyway, add many blocks so shells will go everywhere and travel between other moving shells. The shells should NOT touch each other!
Remember, there can have more than 1 shell shooters at a time!

Also, blocks do not have to be aligned, they can be placed where ever you want (without the grid)

Here is my example!:

This can end however you want... like, fall in the bottom of the screen, land in a lava pool. but not go off the sides of the screen!

Have fun!

EDIT: graphics are ugly i know, but i had an old computer when i recorded this...

I don't know what are the requirements, but if your PC is as crappy as it sound, then I recommend that you shouldn't download it.

Also renhoek, can you create a server called 'Stabyourself' with the password 'password' please? I'm having troubles downloading hamachi.

Also Phoenix, I like how that sounds. I'll see if I can make one.

Oh yeah, also, i am making this program for smbx...

Its just something that if you want to look for a block, backgrounds or NPC, you just click on the button, and it will say what file it is...

Why am i doing this? Well because when i want to set custom graphics, i have to look through all the files until i finally find it. its also annoying if you miss it and have to start over...

With this, its instant!
Right now, only npc are being made, and i will release it when the npc part is done... i will release it each time i have something done.

Things left to do:
-scrolling backgrounds
-level (block) backgrounds
-blocks

I MIGHT add in an npc property customizer, but i will think about it...
-----------------------------------------------------------
Who knows about this lakitu secret thing on SMBX?
 "Lakitus are throwing Lakitus!"

Also, i will keep the blocks last...

While i do all of the other stuff for this, i would really appreciate it if someone would sort all of the blocks in diffrent folders (SMB1, SMB2, SMB3, SMW and Misc.)
If you do this, you DO NOT HAVE TO also sort them by tilesets! But if you do, then go ahead.

Your name will be in the 2 line credits... (lol)

Remember, Blocks! With the ? blocks and wooden blocks and note blocks etc...
NOT these background tiles with the bushes and trees and stuff! (unless you really want to)

EDIT: Also, there should be a release before i will go to sleep, theres not much to do anymore with NPCs.
Next, it will come with level backgrounds!

EDIT2: Here it is!
(Again, please remember that right now, you can only find NPCs, later versions will have more!)
SAVE INSTEAD OF EXECUTING!

I'll be starting and stopping the server at certain times,
I'll edit the post to say when it is and when it's not on,

I can also load any level but I'll be the only one able to see custom graphics and other things,
I'm the only one who can load a level btw,
don't ask how I did it without Hamachi my brother was the one who set it up (his user name's fluxu)

it'll be open at 4:00pm (West Australian time) (half an hour from this post) and will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
and will end whenever the f*ck I feel (also the ip will be changed occasionally so it'll work when the post says on)
EDIT: oh and my screen will be the only one able to spawn entities sadly.
