No, that was never planned.

If you want to always force desktop mode, you could use an adblock (or something similar, I assume it was invented by now) and block styles/stabsilver2/theme/responsive.css

In a way that's a bit counter productive to my idea of the reputation system. Plus, sounds like a lot of work for a feature used once per month at best.
