When I switch to gel cannon or minecraft its just normal portal. I think this also may be linked to problem when I close game a message saying: "the instruction at "0x00396396" referenced memory at "0x09924188". The memory could not be "read"." That message happens all the time
Are you going into the editor to play? If you go into the editor with gel cannon or minecraft, it rego to portal gun. It's normal.When I switch to gel cannon or minecraft its just normal portal.

I also have the problem when turning game off. (with memory not being able to be 'read)

Crashes on close are relatively rare and usually don't cause any problems, so they were never looked into. Plus, they only appeared on Windows XP so that kind of bumped the importance down even more.
As for the cheats: When you go back into the cheats menu, is the setting you selected still there? Also, are you using the latest version downloaded from the site or perhaps a mod?
