Enter the sideways pipe sideways. You know you want to. Post bugs and/or ideas to add.

So far:
Wall latch - While falling, grasp a wall to slowly decelerate, and lead into a wallrun.
Wall run - If you're not falling, when you grasp a wall, you will begin to run up it. ((Yes, I know if you're large Mario your sprite enters the wall))
Wall jump - While running on a wall, you can jump off of it.
Slow-Motion - While the middle mouse button is held, everything will run in slow-motion.
Daft Slide - Can you feel the daft in the air? You can slide upon it by jumping in mid-air with a side held.
Homing Strike - Amidst a daft slide, hold down to do a homing strike. Be sure to aim your portal gun at the target.
Roll - While on the ground, hold down and press a horizontal key to take off at high speeds.

CHANGELOG:
v1.01:
+Wall jumps during wall latch (they depreciate as your downward velocity increases)
+When you hit the middle mouse button, you will go into slow-motion.
=Wall latches are quicker to decelerate your motion.

v1.02:
+Daft slides.

v1.03:
=Minor bugfix

v1.04:
+Homing Strike
+Roll

You don't have to extract the .lua, you have to replace the already existing 'mario.lua' file in Mari0's source.

I'm confused, do you want the wall slide to go faster where you can latch easier or do you want it to go slower?

LOL.

I dunno though, I find it equally fun to climb the end-of-level stairs, or just have big Mario get in the space where a wall meets a ceiling and hump it repeatedly (like on top of the power-up block in SMB2J 2-4; or just climbing the wall in front of the exit pipe of SMB1 2-2's underwater section, where the "ceiling" there is the out-of-water boundary...you can even make it look like he's shooting fireballs from his feet, if you have a fire flower). :p

Interesting thing about this mod: it seems to prevent Mario from being ejected horizontally through rows of blocks, thus keeping him out of SMB1's minus world and keeping him from beating SMB2J's 3-4 with fire. He now climbs the blocks vertically in addition to being pushed horizontally, pushing him out much sooner than would happen otherwise. o_O (Neat place to try this out: SMB1, beginning of 4-2, just before the first 3 goombas, at the brick formation that has the first power-up in the end of its "handle".)

Haha, I really like this mod, it is quite silly.

Few things that i personally think should be changed:
~Momentum when traveling up walls - it would be a nice detail if Mario preserved his speed when he goes up a wall, but slowly lost it, and when he's at his peak, he'll wall slide down.
~Bit more gravity when doing a flying squirrel - Make him gradually lose altitude in an exponential value, rather than a strait line goings down.
~Rotate back to normal position after a wall jump - or even not have him rotate, but use different sprite to illustrate him running up if possible.

and that's my 2 cents

It's funny, since I just mentioned this in the mod rating thread. :P
