while this is cool and all it wasn't used in portal
plus there's no real point,
I don't see this getting in.

Except that that footage is from Portal 3 supposedly according to the video title. Portal 2 has support for portals placed on moving surfaces, never heard of it letting players themselves drag and move a portal with such precision though.

I'm going to go with my guts and say it's fake
it looks to much like portal 2.

Besides why would you need to move portals?

It's also going to PlayStation Move (PS3) soon.

Well as demnonstrated, it allows refined control over the trajectory of the tractor beam. You can use the refined controls to manipulate objects around an obstacle course or even yourself as an example off the top of my head. You could use it to manipulate a laser in to cutting a hole in a wall as another idea.

Considering Mari0 portals are bound to the blocks, this wouldn't really work that well. Or at all.

True, I wasn't implying it was worth while to implement as it is pretty obvious it won't work well in a 2d platformer.

This is FaycalMenouar's thread.
Franpa was just explaining the advantages in the Portal games. He's not saying it should be in Mari0 just defending that they had a use.
Ask FaycalMenouar if you want to know why he thought it was a good idea. I'm more of a fan of just... well... shooting twice... that's already in SE.

He was implying for Maurice to add this in Mari0.
FaycalMenouar wrote:*video*
is it possible to make this in mari0 ?
^ See? ^
I think that he thought it was a good idea because he forgot portals are bound to the blocks, making it kinda pointless to add it.
Saso wrote:Then why post in Mari0 forum
He posted it in the Mari0 forums because he was suggesting Maurice to add that idea. Which is from Portal. And Mari0 is a game about Mario and Portals. Or maybe you just confused Franpa with Faycal.

^ to the guy above ^
no one said that this is portal 3

anyway after googling to see if qcode was being an idiot or not.

this thing costs $140 for dlc,
and goes with a controller...

PASS!

I hope they lower the price and make it not require the controller :(

This came for free with the purchase of the Razer Hydra motion sensing controller. http://store.steampowered.com/app/901666/ It was on sale a few months ago. I got it for $100. There are a couple of annoyances.. About 30% of the time, after going through a portal, you can't look down. Fortunately, that can be fixed.. Unfortunately, the controller works with the use of electromagnetism. I find it hard to use the controller with other electronic devices on. Television, phone, fluorescent desk lamp, ...the computer I'm using the controller with..

Anyway, I heard that this dlc is coming to the playstation for use with the Playstation Move..

If you meant to put Portal 3 in the title, Then This thread is useless. Valve Can't Count To Three.

1.) that's a stupid meme
2.) the last post was made three month before you posted that.
3.) he didn't make the video and that wasn't the point he was talking about.

No, your post did not contribute to the thread. Yes, it is a stupid meme. And yes, you NEED to look at the dates.

I saw the words Portal 3 and lol'd. But in all seriousness, being able to have portals move would change gameplay and add a lot of new possibilities.
