I'm honestly glad I didn't enter, those entries are way out of my league. Now let's just hope there's no leaking going on. :P

Though the all-time winner's proprtions are totally fucked up, I totally agree with your choice. This is some high quality material !
So after all, what will you do with all this accumulated content ? Will you use some of it ?

well, the contest did mention "I can do whatever I want with the post"
So such (evil) genius actions should be expected

True, true. That evil man(?) had planned this all along. How exceedingly devious *cackles*

I think the Mari0 Medley - Mario + Portal Song deserved at least to be noticed.

Anyway, if you give the beta to these 7 people, don't you fear it will immediately be everywhere on the internet ?

I agree. Sort of wish there was a category for art that isn't a picture. I also wish I would've known that there would be different categories, because I probably would have tried something different.

Maybe to prevent it from being leaked, he could mark each beta with a unique identifier, so he would know who it was that leaked it. I think no one would want to leak it if everyone would know who it is.

yeah and then you just tweak the .love file which is open source. anyway if he doesn't want a leak, he can either trust those to whom he sends or give no beta.

or he could just become really close friends with the winners so we would feel bad for leaking it :(

The last month and a half I spent being a beta tester was totally wasted - I have lost all sense of productivity irl. So maybe it wasn't worth it.

Anticipation, no, I remember feeling like an impostor though.
Not like it was that long ago.

hey maurice, that really isn't a bad idea - now that a loooot of people are following development of mari0 you could get them (us) to do some kind of contest where the prize would be ... I don't know being able to tell you to add one thing to mari0 which you had to accept ? and then all the others would shut up (probably not) and the contest would really get people engaged in the stabyourself action ?

Yeah I'm gonna stop, I made a completely normal question, you gave a retarded answer, I played along to see if you would finally answer but that didn't seem to work either, so I guess there's no hope.

Uuugh I thought it was obvious the artwork contest brought some attention, implicated people a lot, caused a lot of content to be published, made more people start talking to each other, enhanced (kind of) creativity in the community - that kind of things. but yeah pure will too.

Oh. I never actually tried to look at it from a community perspective, that actually makes a fair amount of sense. It's just that I don't think it was helpful to the development of the game, and there are other kinds of similar contests that would be more appropriate. But I know the idea was never to gather beta testers from the contest, or at least that's what was said in the first thread about the beta.
