Greetings everybody, the next Map Contest is finally here!
The Rules for this contest are provided below.
-If you want to participate, just make a set of levels (no bigger than 1 world), and submit it here, it has to follow the rules of the contest that you're participating in.
-There will be a theme for each contest, an objective, a key word, a style, you get me.
-For each contest the organizer can choose one version of Mari0 (1.6, an SE beta, a mod) for everyone to work with, and if people will be allowed to use a custom tileset, work with the tiles in the game, or maybe give a specific tileset.

[If you think we can add more general rules, feel free to suggest them]

Now, because Halloween is coming up, the theme will be:Spooky!!!
(Ooh, very Scary!)

Basically, you have to create a very spooky, creepy Mappack. (Example: Things that come out of nowhere like making the screen shake in a place nobody would expect.)
Your Mappacks MUST be made with Mari0 SE Beta 9.
(NOTE that this includes the correct version of both LOVE and Mari0 SE)
LINK: https://www.mediafire.com/file/avv26cu1 ... -win32.zip
And to make it easier, please start your mappack entries name with "contest3-".
Entries must be submitted by October 29th - 12:00 AM Eastern Time (http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com)
After that, everyone will have 3 Days to Vote on the Winner.
So have fun and Good Luck!

EDIT: The Submission Phase is now over. I gave everyone some extra hours in case anybody else submitted late and didn't let me know.

The entries are:

Make your way through four dangerous levels filled with terrifying, transient specters that will hunt you down to the ends of the earth. Be sure you don't expire, because if you submit, you might just become one of them!

The mappack itself features shorter levels, but without any checkpoints, so as to increase tension. Also, I may have gotten a little buckwild towards the end there.

Oh, and one last thing, all the assets I made for this are completely free to be used for your own dark rituals, just make sure to let people know who made it.

It's called Spooksville. The scope was definitely too big, as I only ended up being able to finish one level.
That one level has a lot of secrets though. Try to find all 3 star coins if you can.

Maybe I would have participated if it was set up earlier, or if the deadline was further ahead, but with such a short amount of time, I don't think I'd have anything of quality to present, sorry :/

That's fine. The reason that it's due on the 28th is because I wanted to announce the Winner on Halloween as well as give people enough time to vote.
Next time I get to host one of these contests, I'll have a longer time limit.

Here's a suggestion: what if we all start our final mappack's folder name with "contest3-" so they all get grouped together in the mappack select screen? I know I'm gonna be doing it.

That would probably be a better idea.

I love your mappack so far. It sets the PERFECT example for a Spooky mappack. Though I can't seem to beat the Final Level due to a bug where the game seems to crash when too many enemies evaporate. (Usually the Shadow Bloopers) It has happened multiple times.

I think that's the end2img glitch, and is caused by a typo in the game's code. I think the Bugfixes has a thing for it.

If there's no one else, no one wins because there isn't a competition.

Yeah, but since you were the only one to submit a mappack, you still deserve to at least win by default since you worked hard to make one.

The only problem is that nobody is really entering the Contest. I probably would if there were more people. Though they wouldn't have much time.

Sorry about posting this late. I got sidetracked by Odyssey and lost track of time.
(In my defense, though, there's still a good couple of hours before the 28th for me.)

MagicPillow, your mappack is amazing! I found all 3 Star Coins and even recollected the Second a couple times due to it respawning using the Warp Pipe.

This was a fun contest. I'm pretty satisfied with the final product, even though I didn't quite meet my original goals.
Hopefully there'll be another one not far into the future.
