I am a big fan of the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the latest in valve's amazing Counter-Strike series, and when I found and played Mari0, I instantly thought "If one valve game could merged with Mario, why not another?". Now, after I found out that Mari0 was open source, I instantly downloaded the source and started development on Super-Mario: Global-Offensive(SM:GO). Now, before you think I just jumped in with no knowledge what-so-ever, I was quite advanced in lua and was about average at using LÖVE. Now, unlike with Mari0, this will be a total conversion, meaning that there will be little to no reminiscent of Mari0 other then the source code and some of the textures (However, the majority will be edited). This mod is quite early into development but so far I have implemented the following:
- Re-textures for many textures
Custom Title Screen
Remake of popular map Dust 2
Better Map Editor (Thanks to pbalazs, viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1954(If you have a problem with me including this please DM me)
Edited sounds (Many ripped from CS:GO or CS:S, sorry for not making them myself =P)
- Port to LÖVE 10.X (The mod is based on Mari0 1.6, not SE so its being ported from LÖVE 8.X)
Make custom sounds instead of ripping of CS
More maps (Inferno, Aztec, Dust 1 (Dust zero from some CS games like CS:NZ and CS:O)etc)
Buy menu like CS:GO
Guns from CS:GO (I mean, you could have guessed guns)
Always in the "Super Mario" form (The form after eating a 'Shroom) and letting you move while crouching
Hats for each terrorist type (Eg. Balaclava for the Phoenix connection)
