I havent been on here in a long time and I want to get back into this, but I'm a bit lost as to what I'm supposed to use right now. What is the definitive version, or the one most people are using? Or what's compatible with most maps?

I'm seeing one thread about SE Bugfixes, but then I'm seeing SE Extended, and all sorts of other stuff and I'm a little lost.

SE Extended was used in the Mapping Contest, but I think the most used version is SE Bugfixes.
And welcome back to the forums!

I would stick to SE Bugfixes, I've run into a number of issues with SE Extended. (Among them being that the download links are broken.)

That's good then. I'm mainly looking for the one most people are using anyways. So I can start re-doing my old maps in SE. Maybe I should make a thread for the ones Ive already done

Actually, trying to ru it crashed my game, huh.

It's likely a mappack incompatibility. You need to either install a Beta 9 mappack an select it with Beta 8, or just move your mappacks folder so the game doesn't detect it.

Huh, it was. But what would make a mappack load with the most recent version of SE but not SE Bugfixes?

Beta 9 uses a different level format from Beta 8 and below, so it crashes on loading.

That's not what's happening, I'm pretty sure I'm using Beta 9, but then I load Beta 9 Bugfixes and it crashes.

Okay, that's bizarre. What's the error message?

I mean, it could be a simple thing I'm missing.

Looks like you're using Beta 7, not Beta 9.

Welp.

I'm gonna have to redo my stage again, yeesh. Did the converter get updated or do I have the most recent one?

I don't think it did, but just to be sure, can you send me one of your level files?

Like, a Zip of the Level?

I can do that. I'd have to find a site I can upload to though

Yeah, you're using the Beta 8 delimiters.

I think there's a converter floating around somewhere, but if you can't find it or it doesn't work, you'll just have to do a find and replace in the level file.

Im thinking back and realise that I lost the most up to date version of that map. This might just be one from before I converted.
