And the answer is...
MODERN!

I would say that using Modern-like graphics never fails.imgudman4567 wrote:Geez is this thread dead.

That's why I thought the Super Mario Bros. 4 Logo was familiar.Mariofan064 wrote:I would say that using Modern-like graphics never fails.imgudman4567 wrote:Geez is this thread dead.

Use idiot's tile set if going for modern. My recommendation though.
Yeah, the logo was a place holder. I found the image on fantendo. http://fantendo.wikia.com/wiki/New_Super_Mario_Bros._4
This is the logo I use now:

A beta tileset. I'll make an image center for it so it can be seen when people enter the post.

It'd also be wise to remove the white background from behind the tiles ;)imgudman4567 wrote:

I know, just wanted to give you guys a lil' peek at it. (Besides, I've had my trouble forgetting to. Somehow, the game still reads them.HugoBDesigner wrote:It'd also be wise to remove the white background from behind the tiles ;)imgudman4567 wrote:

You're probably not using the right program or using it correctly if the background turns white in the first place.imgudman4567 wrote:(Besides, I've had my trouble forgetting to. Somehow, the game still reads them.

No, it's not that, I can perfectly turn the background transparent, it's just if you DON'T do said action, the game still reads them, but with white where it should be transparent. Try it.alesan99 wrote:You're probably not using the right program or using it correctly if the background turns white in the first place.imgudman4567 wrote:(Besides, I've had my trouble forgetting to. Oh, and another thing, can someone give me a template of a foreground?
That would just be a transparent 400x244 image.

I'm back. So, I now have a prototype title screen, so that's good, and now I am currently working on the tileset. But I do have onw question regarding music. In the "A Guide to Working mari0," it says how to put music, but doesn't specify how to put in multiple tracks into the mappack. So, HOW do you do such a thing?
You put the .mp3/.ogg files in Your Mappack\music.
EDIT: Oh look, this is my 1000th post. What is this, the third time now?

If you are using Mari0 SE just make a "music" folder and put your files there

Using 1.6 (too skrub to use SE for sake of not having software to make it playable.) I'lljust assume if I wanted more then one music track I would just have to put the number 2 or 3 or etc.alesan99 wrote:If you are using Mari0 SE just make a "music" folder and put your files there
In that case, you'll have to mod the game, for which you'll need the software to make SE playable. Just look for version 0.9.2 here.

But what if I'm using alesan99's Entities? Does that make any difference?QwertymanO07 wrote:In that case, you'll have to mod the game, for which you'll need the software to make SE playable. Just look for version 0.9.2 here.
You should've said so.imgudman4567 wrote:But what if I'm using alesan99's Entities? Does that make any difference?
alesan99 wrote:Place a .ogg or .mp3 file named "music[number here].ogg/.mp3" (Example: music3.ogg) in your mappack folder.
In the level editor, select "custom" as the music, click the box with the number that appears, type in the number music you want and press enter.

ALSO IN OTHER IMPORTANT NEWS: I am officially working on ANOTHER mod entitled Sup3r Scrr1bbl3n4ut5. This mod is simple: you can create objects from SMB1 (And the original grames give them adjectives (i.e: Big Red Koopa Troopa | Small Zombie-like Goomba, etc.) And yes, coding this thing will be a (girl dog), BUT I SAY #YOLO.So yeah, I'mma eat pizza now. I'll make a thread soon for it. NOT THE PIZZA, THE MOD.
