Gamemaker studios is as close to not coding as you are likely to get:

whatever you do do not use scratch

trust me it's really bad. even though i consider game maker drag and drop games as not real games (apart from spelunky, gunpoint etc. where everything is pretty much code). game maker is way better than scratch. and even though scratch is much quicker it is very limited (seriously i could make an ok game and post it on here in 5 mins). but it can be used as a stepping stone to eventual coding if you're like 7

conclusion:
if you cant code use game maker but never use scratch

I don't know who told you this but you don't code sprites.

unless you're talking about mapping sprites in which case that stuff is in the drag and drop system, at least I assume it is I haven't used the system in nearly a decade.

Yes there's scripts which is what most people who use Gamemaker professionally use but the drag and drop feature is great for beginners.

That actually looks cool. I didn't check into it much though. Whatever sparks your interest is something worth investing time in. Even if it doesn't amount to much, exploration and creativity is always a nice reason to try something.

I mean if you want to go further with this then you're obviously going to have to go further with tools and coding and such but if you're just starting out and doing it for fun and experience then by all means go for it

you should know that there's is some rules like don't bump old threads or a non existente rule don't put huge images without the collapse tag, spoiler tag or thumb tag
bump: post a message in a thread with a very old last message

collapse tag:
similar to that spoiler button but with custom text on it

Code: Select all

[collapse=Click here]Yay[/collapse]
spoiler tag:
that spoiler button above

Code: Select all
Yay
thumb tag:
change the image size to a tiny image

Code: Select all
