that was like the 15th take, it gets confusing to control him in slow motion some times, specially because Mario doesn't face the way he is runing to, he faces the way the gun is pointing. It would be easy if I had done it completely stopped (which is kinda what I did anyway...) but while runing it isn't.

creating portal-type doors with buttons involves creating the elements, saving/reloading, opening a new type of logical editor, linking the door to the button (in that order) and then saving/reloading again. yay for straight forward and user intuitive :D

I'm kinda confused by that post, Moncole, feels like you need some commas there.
I searched for my video on N4G and it is indeed there. I tried to make it clear that the speed control thingy is probably not gonna be in the game as a gameplay element, but the title kinda suggests otherwise :/
I hope I'm not making things difficult for Maurice for uploading these videos.

Oh, and I was kinda hoping that the other contest winners would upload some videos as well and share them here :)

If he drops down a hole he dies or disappears. If I touch him with the star power-up, Bowser turns in to a grey goomba and dies, which is what he did in SMB level 1-4 if you hit him with enough fire balls.

He turns into a different enemy for every level you face him. That's because killing them with fireballs reveals their true forms. They're only disguised as Bowser.

Holy shit I never knew that was the reason, I though they were just lazy and didn't want to make another sprite for the corpse. Is the final Bowser also fake?
Weird, I don't even recall seeing bowser's actual corpse in the last level :|

I'd noticed that a while back and was kind of disappointed by how easy that meant killing bowser was but yeah it shows his different identities.
notice during the last frames how he doesn't switch to another shape as I kill him with my shitty gameplay :

though conceptually this should happen, mari0 is as limited as portal and if I remember well from the code there is a minimum speed of travel through portal. So this only really means mari0 is more buggy than portal :P

good question. the interesting thing is that when the game bugs (now very difficult to replicate), you start walking inside a block and then go back into this portal (and fall into the aforegifed predicament), you can shoot portals wherever you want, your feet will just be sticking out all the same. Reload portals or shoot the head-portal and you just go back on the ground

I believe the source of this glitch is downwards collisions not being calculated actually at the feet, but at a point where the feet should be relative to the head. This means the game thinks Mario's feet are on the ground, when really they're sticking out of a portal. This also works with being able to get into the floor in the first place, as Mario can exit the portal zone and re-enable collisions with the floor. All Maurice really needs to do to fix this is make the edges of portals always solid while you're going through them. It's definitely a bug, not a feature. Unless Maurice wants to come in and rebrand it a feature, which is okay with me. :P
This post is based on assumptions of what I did when making my game, apologies if anything is horrendously wrong. :P
