inside put world 8-4 in world and level option
in life put 3 and on other side put 99
now you are fire mario with 99 lives on last map
finish it

Just change one of the worlds in the editor.
You can make a warppipe in word 1 that goes to world 8. And from there change your starting point in front of the flagpool.

or you can go in options.txt and add
"gamefinished;" wihout quotes
to end of file, and it will open cheats.

Weeeell, go to the main menu and press the following key sequence:

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, LEft, Right, B, A

This will instantly unlock the cheats menu

I just died on level 8-2 after i got the flag. a bullet came outta nowhere and killed mario while he was walking from the flag to the castle out of my control

I think there should be an easy way to give yourself infinite lives on the portal maps. Valve made portal levels infinitely replayable for a reason: it was a conscious decision to encourage player experimentation. you can hear it in the portal commentaries
