This is your objective: Make Mari0 64. You can export the models using programs online and use anything (including Source engine) to make Portal and Mari0 64

Demand something and act like as though this forum owes you something, good job on building a good reputation there.

but as for the topic,
you guys do realize portal was fun because of how the levels were designed to use portal gun not because you could use a portal gun alone right?

Removing the F.L.U.D.D Jetpack-like functions in Mario Sunshine and replacing them with the portal gun would seem more plausible for this.
It's true though, putting a portal gun in a game that doesn't need it doesn't really make it fun right off the bat. You need to give the player a reason to use it.
