Would you be able to change your name ingame? You know, the name in the top left corner?

Also because people may want to change their name without having to edit the files.ucenna wrote:Nd even if not, I don't see why maurice would allow custom character sprites, but not custom names.

- No, there is no custom mario.lua(Custom ENNEMIES,and these are in json, not in lua)
- Custom characters will have custom names(http://i.imgur.com/4eMb0.gif)
What's the point? Also because people may want to change their name without having to change the files.

While it won't do any change in gameplay, it would be good to see your name instead of Mario's when you finish a world, or save the princess.

It'd be better if Mario was actually you and then you've killed two birds with one stone.LightningFire wrote:While it won't do any change in gameplay, it's would be good to see your name instead of Mario's when you finish a world, or save the princess.

I never really did said anything about custom entities. I was just quoting ucenna for this:

I tend to jump to conclusions, and if their isn't custom entities, one could creatively use custom enemies, to make enemies that do cool entity-like things and don't kill you. That said I don't know much about love or json so I can't say much.Maurice wrote:I don't know where you people ever saw "custom entities".

Each character has an associated name.
I was actually thinking about this. I was thinking that after loading, a window would appear saying "What is your name?" and you would type it in or something.

That would be annoying for it to keep popping up.Vyper wrote:I was actually thinking about this. I was thinking that after loading, a window would appear saying "What is your name?" and you would type it in or something.
But, that gives me the idea of having "Profiles" on Mari0. Maybe you could connect you Stabyourself.net account in-game with multiplayer mode! :D

Mari0Maker, That is the most amazing idea I have ever heard.
Maybe there could be a certain color scheme when you log on.
And maybe it would show Mario with that color scheme if you click on a person's name.

It's called naming matching your online id to your username.Mari0Maker wrote:That would be annoying for it to keep popping up.Vyper wrote:I was actually thinking about this. I was thinking that after loading, a window would appear saying "What is your name?" and you would type it in or something.

I made this example for the "Profiles".
I discovered that my font looked just like the NES font when capitilized. When I wrote account, I was copying letters from font.png. :P
Also, this is my first illustration.

Wait, is that the under-case NES letters font?Mari0Maker wrote:I made this example for the "Profiles".

I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT IN SO LONG!
I THOUGH PEOPLE FORGOT THAT IT EXISTED!
Maybe someone could mod that in?Omegaman wrote:Wait, is that the under-case NES letters font?Mari0Maker wrote:I made this example for the "Profiles".

We thought that since you were doing custom enemies that you could also modify items and certain other attributes, since enemies can now be placed inside "?" blocks.Maurice wrote:I don't know where you people ever saw "custom entities".
Besides, if custom entities do make it in, the number of "Suggestions" topics would be very slim.
I bet i could do that actually. It's only a matter of adding it to font.png and changing a bit of code.Turtle95 wrote: Maybe someone could mod that in?
You'd have to do some sort of lua http scripting to access the accounts on SyS so that Mari0 will know who is who and all that.Vyper wrote:I bet i could do that actually. It's only a matter of adding it to font.png and changing a bit of code.Turtle95 wrote: Maybe someone could mod that in?

I think Vyper meant adding the lower case font
Also a direct connection to the database, unless you have a seperate database user set up for every actual user (which is pretty much never used in games), is an incredibly stupid idearokit boy wrote:I don't think the login thing is even possible.
If the usernames and passwords are saved on a MySQL database (probably) then you're out of luck because LOVE can't connect to MySQL
