[Suggestion] More Graphics Packs
One day, a curious me looked through the coding, and found out that Mari0 can have different graphics besides what's in the "SMB" folder, as long as you make a new folder and go into the coding to switch it. Then this Christmas I got a bunch of money and bought virtual console lost levels for my 3DS, and I really liked how it looked different than the original SMB (unlike the all*stars version) and thought mari0 would look cool like that.
So I want a way to switch graphics packs in SE. Graphics packs could change any graphic in the "SMB" graphics pack, except for the player and hats. If a graphic isn't found, it'll use the one in "SMB" because if it's not there it'll crash anyway. Of course, it wouldn't overwrite mappack graphics, just like the default graphic pack wouldn't. This would allow for lots of people who like making reskins but can't make maps to show their graphics without a mappack included. The other pack included (besides SMB) should either Allstars, since it's the mentioned in the coding's comments, or Lost Levels, because it'd be the easiest to do.
If you don't understand, play some Super Mario Brothers Crossover and mess around with the graphics options, then you should understand.

This is a feature regarding tiles that I approve of alongside adding in the remaining palette configurations in SMB' original coding that aren't seen in vanilla SMB1 unless hacked.

Does that mean I can make background objects portable tiles (like clouds)?Maurice wrote:SE already allows replacing of any ingame graphic including the tiles.png

You already can, but i don't know if it works.BobTheLawyer wrote:Does that mean I can make background objects portable tiles (like clouds)?Maurice wrote:SE already allows replacing of any ingame graphic including the tiles.png
Yes but can you switch around the different graphics? Like if you put some graphics into it's own folder in the graphics folder, you can switch to those graphics for all gameplay, unless the mappack being played specifies a sprite to be used?Maurice wrote:SE already allows replacing of any ingame graphic including the tiles.png
