What is SE?

I keep seeing things about something called SE, But I have NO IDEA what it means? Skin editor? Super Editor? Is it a mod? Please tell me what it is! Thanks.

It's like Mari0 1.7 (So not released yet), except it's got tons more features (which is why its taking longer than the other releases) So when someone say it's for Mari0 SE, then it's for the version of Mari0 that's coming.
