first of all, i want to thx the Devs for making this epic game become more epic!!!! THX VERY MUCH!!!
second... my english is horrible...

now... what i want to do is point some good things to make the multiplayer be more epic than now!
1: infinite continues... because it's almost impossible to not die in multiplayer... I know there is a cheat for infinite life... but IMO continues are better than lifes, if someone lost all of his life he need to wait till everyone die or when someone finish the stage!
2: Split Screen, it's easy to get lost... and die...
3: we can steal life from order player, for example, someone has lost his last life... and there is one with 3 life so this guy who lost all of his life can get one life from the the guy who has 3 life!
and the last one.. we can use cheat from the beginning!!!

Here's a gameplay with my friends

as you guys can see we got lost fast XD

oowww and we are using 2 generic PS2 Controller and 1 generic PC Controller(Teem)

Thanks for your time!!! cya~~

as you may know, maurice implemented a dynamic splitscreen quite a while ago. He probably disabled it during development to limit conflicting issues or such. I guess he might try to get it to work again ; but it's like online multiplayer, we just have to wait for the team to get it working again in their own time :P.

thx for reply!
Didn't know that the game had a Split Screen mode!!!
Or maybe they can make like New Super Mario Bros... when people are staying behind the camera can zoom out!!!

also there is a infinite lives cheat, it's in the options menu under "cheats"
and to unlock it you have to beat the game...
or do the konami code
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, (then literaly press) b, a
if it works you should hear the contra title theme.

yeah... but there is a problem with infinite life... "we are immortals" i want some challenge... so if we lost all life we need to restart the entire game??? i want to restart only the stage we die...

EDIT: oh and congratulations on getting your video on the news thread ;)

+1 for the split screen.

The most awsome would be, if the split screens would merge as long as your are near:

For example with four players, when three of them are near each other but one is left behind the last player should be on the outer left quarter with a split line between the left quarter and the right 3/4, whereas the right 3/4 are not separated.

Another option would be "respawn if out of screen" (either with or without loosing a life). Also I would back the suggestion that there should be an optinal difference between "lifes" and "respawns".

I think Maurice removed it because he didn't want to program a split screen for more than 4 players :\

For more then 2 players, don't you mean? Having the screen dynamically split into more then halves would just confuse the heck out of everyone playing as it will seemingly randomly change who appears in which quadrant whenever the players split up etc..

A consistent split screen for 3+ players would be nice though.

i think that in some next versions, he could implement this for 2 players and not for 3+ because it would be too confusing :s

Actually if you care to read Maurice's code, you will notice that his code should support any number of simultaneous splitscreens but this number is hardcoded to two for testing purposes. And I guess the reason this is not in is the same as the reason I can't release a splitscreen mod - just doesn't behave properly. What I'm currently getting is one normal and one misaligned splitscreen with jumpy camera

He said he needs to update splitscreen for new drawing code or something. Leave him to it, he'll probably have it by 2.0

Fantastic game I have to say :) . Just a suggestion for the split screen for more than 2 players. It should just be dynamic split screen that follows the first and the last player. At least then if you get stuck somewhere in the middle you can wait for the last player to catch up to you so you can see where you are :) as it is now once the player in front gets half a screen ahead your nowhere to be seen so its pretty hard to use.

That's actually a surprisingly good idea, but splitscreen won't be in the game I think.
It solves my problems with splitscreen though. I'll see about readding it, a new problem is vertical scrolling.
