Timeline is a good book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_(novel)
Basically, there is a guy from a company that tries to make a super computer with quantum technology, yet they fail, but they try! A book worth to read, totally recommend it!

it's funny, cos the humans /hominids series thing has a lot about quantum computers and their theoretical link with parallel dimensions. I think this book's theories are a bunch of horsecrap, but it's fun to read.
