Somebody had to make the thread before we started filling up the chat room.

Post your Super Mario Maker levels here!
Thorny Waters:

AB06-0000-001E-26E2
An underwater SMB level with lots of danger.

Bowser's Track Trap:

going to link three of my favorite levels I made,
Image
Bobs n' Platforms. (E567-0000-001E-E035)
Image
Snowagogo. (57F1-0000-0034-7108)
Image
Generic Ghost House. (E1E3-0000-0035-6539) - This one I tried to create what a ghost house level would be like if it were actually in the original Mario game.
I'd appreciate if people could give these a star, I hit my limit already at day 3 and I'd like to stream myself doing more levels in the future.

Here's five of my favorites just so I don't link all ten.
Image
A fairly easy level focusing on aesthetics and emulating the Super Mario Bros. 3 design style.
B069-0000-0035-94A1
Image
A puzzle level that flips upside-down when Mario enters a pipe. Definitely the one I'm most proud of so far!
A526-0000-0035-4E47
Image
I dare you to finish this level! It's insanely hard, but without relying on cheap tricks or enemy spam.
A526-0000-0035-4E47
Image
An endurance level for testing your mettle with some tricky platforming.
155D-0000-0035-3326
Image
Exactly what it sounds like.

What's this? A thread with quality Mario Maker levels? Awesome!
I'll be posting my own creations later tonight. They aren't amazing or anything, I've gotten a bit rusty...

You noticed! Thanks!

As promised here are my humble works:
E6CB-0000-0034-78C0
Description is in the title. It really is a sorta generic Ghost House
6941-0000-0032-B5C1
My first go at making a level (one worth uploading anyway). It was TOTALLY not based off of 1-1 from 'The Journey'.
Sorry, no pictures. I don't really know of an easy method to get screen caps.

I've reached my max limit of 10 levels, so any stars would be greatly appreciated.
Kamek's Conveyor Castle:
Image
6F9F-0000-0040-1CB0
An autoscrolling SMB castle level. Conveyors prevent you from moving very far, so you'll mainly be jumping.

Goomba's Shoe Ship:
Image
418A-0000-004D-F49C
An airship filled with every type of shoe. Find the perfect fit for this obstacle course!

Ghostly Gallows:
Image
1AF6-0000-004E-48F2
A ghost house level that does its best to confuse you.

Here are my levels
Image
Up-Down Fortess (0A11-0000-0028-ED98)
First course I thought was good enough to upload. It's a bit hard towards the middle.
Image
Mario's Airship (193D-0000-002F-54EA)
More of a concept level. I figured out I could make a moving "airship" with bone-coasters and pow blocks.
Image
Mario's Airship 2 (D36A-0000-0039-6E46)
Similar to the one before but I made the airship out of flying blocks instead and added other enemy airships.
Image
Flood & Drain (63CB-0000-0043-4AA3)
This is my favorite one. Switch between water and no water.

No I'm not pumping out levels that quickly, I just made the previous one yesterday and only posted it on here today. This was made today. Similar difficulty to my previous level; easy/medium. Most of my levels are probably going to be based on maintaining an aesthetic while having fair difficulty gameplay.

EDIT: OKAY SO MAYBE I WAS WRONG CAUSE I ALREADY MADE ANOTHER. In my defense it is probably a LOT simpler than my other two... so... THERE.

Two more levels.
Image
Under and Over (2DBA-0000-0062-6E92)
This level is about going back and forth. You have to have certain power-ups to continue, so don't try running through the piranha plants until you can kill them with fire mario.
Image
Make a Bridge! (7603-0000-0076-AC37)
Jump in order to make the invisible blocks appear so you can complete the top part of the level.

As for the discussion; heck yeah it's nice they added stuff for old games. I hope they add more of the themes from the new super mario bros games as DLC, which would also be super awesome to be compatable with the older games, such as the desert (which was actually already in the older games so they'd have sprites for that), jungle, and ice-world themes.

Actually, only SMB3 has NSMB-like world themes (especially the desert theme), out of the older games.
There's only two themes that are in all four games but missing in Mario Maker: Night and Ice/Snow.
  • SMB1: World 6-3 is (probably) a snow level, and Worlds 3 and 6 take place at night.
  • SMB3: Ice Land has ice levels in it obviously, and Dark Land has night levels in it.
  • SMW: Awesome is the only ice level (the rest are ice caves), and Star World has night levels.
  • NSMBU: Frosted Glacier is the ice world. It's also the night levels, though. The "haunted" part of Soda Jungle  or Peach's Castle  could work without making new assets.
That's assuming Nintendo has a problem with making new assets for the games, which they obviously don't. Really it's more of a nitpick.
if i start my next post in this thread with "actually" i swear

I want an ice tile that doesn't get destroyed by bomb-ombs/thwomps/etc.
Also an ice theme because grassy Overworld doesn't really mix well with ice blocks.

probably my last level for a while cause I've done every theme now and can't upload much more levels cause I don't have a high enough rank.

Weedy Waters (DFA6-0000-007C-3749)

discussion: also slopes and spinning wheels/blocks from NSMB stages. Pretty much as a whole this game just has a shit ton of potential for DLC.

Maybe one day I'll return to Mari0... but for now, here's some more levels for that other game.
Image
From Super Mario Bros. Special! Complete with all its hidden secrets. 471A-0000-0086-00B9
Image
The blimp level from Kirby’s Adventure, adapted for Super Mario Maker! 69C1-0000-0086-2050
Image
No enemies, just rocks. Lots and lots of rocks. A9DE-0000-006A-8FB9
Image
An autoscrolling level that you “rewind” with doors to solve puzzles. 5CC1-0000-0088-4A13
That last one is definitely my favorite out of this batch.

A port of the first level in the 1.6 Portal Mappack. Accurate except in functionality. Also it took me 15 minutes to type the name with my broken gamepad screen.
