Rips are in a new page as well!
Let's talk about YouTube or something similar.
I honestly think that the way YouTube sorts videos is completely broken. For example: the recommended feed.
About 7 months ago, I accidentally clicked on a Littlest Pet Shop video. And guess what? YouTube apparently thinks I want way more LPS videos, despite the fact that I clicked on the video 7 months ago and as soon as the page loaded, I hit the back button. And some of the videos that show up in my recommended feed are absolute shite that i'm not interested in. I keep getting sports videos and popular music in my feed, which I never watch any of these. I'm not interested in sports and i'm not a fan of new "trendy" music.
What are your opinions on the matter?

My opinion is that it's all based on the YouTube's algorithm(not really an opinion, but a fact, just stick with me). It checks for videos you saw recently and implies it's a new topic you're interested in, so it recommends more. For example, if I just watched a video about, idk, The Talos Principle, it'd show me more, as in "so you seem to have found this game, The Talos Principle, and seems interesting. Why don't you check these other videos to see more about it?".
Since I only watch YouTube videos when I'm logged on, just go to your history and delete the video you watched. I personally clear my entire search history and video history, so that random videos I watched once or twice won't get suggested. The algorithm will take your suggestions based on subscriptions only if you do that.
Also, if you're in the front page and see a tab suggesting videos of a certain genre you don't like (sports, for example), just click to dismiss it, so it'll stop suggesting that for you.

The problem with dismissing a genre that I don't like, is once I dismiss it, the next time I log in, it comes back. No matter how many times I click "Not interested" on videos or genres that i'm not interested in, I still keep getting FNaF, Minecraft, TheFineBros, REACT, etc. in my recommended feed. And I keep getting these "Top 10 Facts about <insert porn star/popular youtuber/celebrity here>" videos in my recommended feed. No matter how many times I delete my watch history, I keep getting the popular crap like DanTDM and Justin Bieber in my recommended feed. The way YouTube suggests popular content creators brings in a bunch of other problems too.
I have a friend who has a YouTube channel named "Rads Per Second". His channel has around 250-300 subscribers and he never gets any publicity. This is one of the many problems that the YouTube suggestion algorithm has. The obscure channels that sometimes have really original content get no publicity because of the way YouTube keeps recommending the popular stuff to more people. "Sure, let's promote the huge channels like PSY and PewDiePie and stomp all over the smaller channels while we're at it". Like many people, I think a "Discover" tab would be nice. Hell, so many people are suggesting it now, I don't know how YouTube hasn't implemented something like this yet. You would have the recommended feed, the trending feed and then you would have the discover feed.
Sorry for rant, but i'm pretty sure many people here may agree.

I agree with you. YouTube does a really bad job at keeping tailored suggestions, and pretty much almost everything on my front page is just topics and/or channels that I'm not interested in. Examples being Planet Dolan, jacksepticeye (and other gaming YouTubers), MC YouTubers, etc. I'm just not a fan. I don't know how or why it happens, but clearly YouTubes algorithms are awful. I ended up downloading this chrome extension that decently does the job well. It doesn't block topics, just channels.
Hopefully this helps you as well.

in other news, The Beginner's Guide was absolutely fucking amazing
it's like a really compelling story in that i loved the literary elements and might write an essay about it if i get the chance to
also go in blind. like, don't even watch the trailer.
totally recommended, especially if youre into creation or are already a creator of things. it explores the ideas behind exploring ideas and in that mindset tells a really compelling if not downright moving narrative

And right above me, you can see how Wilo contradicts himself by saying Cake is joining him in leaving, but since he just posted, he's now come back.

I mean maybe he's just learning how to make stuff with it or something. We all start somewhere.TurretBot wrote:why would you make anything in adobe flash
also I've never seen adobe flash as anything else but that thing in my browser that plays Super Mario Crossover
You can make a .gif in MSPaint? Also, MSPaint still exists? I thought it was replaced with Fresh Paint or OneNote.Julien12150 wrote:yea, mspaint ftw
What are you even implyingTurretBot wrote:why would you make anything in adobe flash
Flash is the most popular animation tool on the planet and easily has been for the last 15 years. Did you forget Newgrounds.com exists?
Yes, Flash itself is riddled with security issues, but for production alone there's absolutely no issues.

I'm weirdly proud that I made my own movement system
Anyone have any other ideas for what I could do today?

Yeah, the type of death animation usually depends on how frequently the player dies.Mariofan064 wrote:stuff
If it's a game like Super Meat Boy, the death animation's gonna be much faster than a game like Super Mario Galaxy.

Hi, I'm back for my month's worth of Stabbing. What's been happening? I've learned Java.

Congrats. Java is ok. Pretty similar to a lot of languages, so it's nice to learn off of.jwright159 wrote:Hi, I'm back for my month's worth of Stabbing. What's been happening? I've learned Java.
I came back yesterday after Bruan posted a picture of me in the pics thread.

I'm pretty sure he meant what the animation is supposed to be, as in what did you try to do in your animation?
I know it's your first animation bro, pipe down. I even stated this.Mariofan064 wrote:It looks "ok". Uh...what is it exactly?

I'm just asking what the animation is supposed to be. I wanted context.Mariofan064 wrote: I mean maybe he's just learning (meaning I acknowledge its your first time) how to make stuff (being the animation) with it or something. We all start somewhere.
Also, I'm not going to say that it's the fucking Mona Lisa. But I will say that it's a good start. It's "ok".
^Ignore this. He accidentally unquoted a part of what I said, and I confusingly gave a response back.^

I don't know what a styscord is. Also nobody does. Because it's not a thing. (Unless it is.)
Here's some stuff I've been working on instead of Idiot for now.
If you look hard enough in this thread you can find this really depressing surrealist story that I wrote in 9th grade as a giant metaphor because I was sad and kinda fucked up
