Text cards and voiceovers done right would actually be pretty enjoyable if done right. It's also gotta be intentionally that way, not a copout. But it could actually work if it fit the genre.

Here's a topic switcher:

How many people actually watch the Super Bowl and not just the commercials? I've never been a fan of watching sports, and find it kinda boring. Still, I don't like watching Super Bowl commercials until they officially aired, which is why I have Adblock enabled on YouTube during the first week of February.

edit: I regret this post so fucking much.

rokit, calm your ass.
villager, its not funny stop.

you know, I'm editing a pretty old post. no one even cares anymore lol

What is the satisfaction from watching sports?
I mean, unless it's someone you personally know and are rooting for, sports are nothing but overpaid games focused around balls.

People often connect with the team or the players - either because they come from their hometown or their parents supported them or whatever. Additionally there's the talent involved, watching someone do a challenging manoeuvre is always impressive. I'm not a big fan of sports myself, but I'm also not a fan of the "sports are silly cause they're arbitrary" cause you could say the same thing about anything. Why would you watch a talented piano player - they're just hitting keys.

I always find this relevant xkcd helps to bridge the gap between sports people and non sports people

if you pick apart anything it makes it sound like shit.

whats the satisfaction of art? it's just mentally challenged chromosomes using overpriced equipment to make a shit still image they will look at once and then never see again which makes it a massive waste of time.

(not my view btw just pickin it apart)

You got a point, but your example is really ridiculous, also it was not necessary, Qcode did a much better job continuing the conversation.

I honestly loathe sports; not just because it isn't fun, because it's culture is awful. it's obnoxiously agressive, and because it's so mainstream people are forced into it in our education. In year 7 in primary school I was forced into the soccer team because literally everyone else in my class was. I had very clearly expressed I didn't want to, but they made me anyway - and then when I failed to be helpful in the team as the goalie they forced me to be, they got mad at me. I was always told that sport was the only way to get fitness; which is total bullshit because things like taking a walk or going to the gym exist. rather, all I ever experienced from sport was injury - such as T-ball to the throat.
I literally wrote a shitty phys ed teacher I had an essay on why I thought sport was shit. I did research: it originated from shit like the barbaric kicking around of people's decapitated heads. Sport stars are always the ones you hear about who are doing drugs and assaulting their girl friends.
When there are sports games, the audiences full of white people will go insane after a game - if their team won they destroy cars, vandalize shit and people even die, police and media just call it 'a bit of fun' or 'going a bit overboard'; but when black people have a peaceful protest they're called 'thugs' and 'vandals' when they've done fuck all.
Sport and almost everything about it is fucking disgusting to me.

I hate it because it seems like I'm expected to like it, and when they find out I don't they give me dirty looks (well, more dirty looks). So when someone makes a sports joke everyone laughs and I just sit there like an idiot wondering why it's funny, and everyone looks at me like I didn't pass at the end of the game that's literally the only sports joke I know, acc. to my mom, rip seahawks. Same happens when I make a joke about uh I dunno, CS:GO, everyone looks at me like I didn't vote for de_dust2 to be the next map played.
(also it is literally the only reason we still have a TV subscription, just so mommy can watch the game)

But yeah same with what Kiashi said. School stahp making me play football for jym I can't throw for shit and you just yell at me for doing bad which makes me feel worse ; - ;

When I don't understand a joke I just make fun of myself for not understanding.

Then you look even more like a dumbass for trying to be funny. Congrats. Now you're getting dirty looks for a different reason.

How about the fact that I'm getting creeped out at occasionally bumping into Stabyourself members around YouTube. I mean, the internet is a pretty big place (and yes, that is an understatement), and I keep finding Stys people in random videos, some from very large channels (which accounting for the amount of comments per video should lower the chances even more).

Maybe it has something to do with similar interests?

(I definitely could have gone about the quoting chain better- I didn't quite mean the last sentence as it was interpreted. Sports players are among the highest paid people in the world, and that doesn't make sense to me.)

Hey everyone! I made a STYS Discord server.
Discord is a fairly new platform for voice and text chatting. It's made to compete with Skype and Teamspeak, but there's also a lot of overlap with Steam's friend features. It's lightweight, it's free, it runs multiplatform or in the browser, and it has a lot of features such as images, text markup, saved history, private messages...

I could go on and on, really, but I'll stop there. You can learn more about it at their website, https://discordapp.com/.
I know we have IRC and a Steam group for this kind of thing, but I wasn't really intending to compete with those. My main purpose for setting this up was to use it for voice chat (especially in streams), because as we all know Skype is a Very Well-Made Program™ and has no issues at all. Although I really wouldn't mind if people used this for everything else too.

For now I'm allowing anyone to join, so you don't have to make an account. I'm considering switching it to accounts only in the future, so if you intend to use it often, it may be in your best interest to register.

Also, it looks like I'm going to have one hell of a fun time with your username in the morning.

On a side note, download Ink for Google already ffs. Once you go Material you realize almost everything I've said in my last few posts are satirical.

They don't call you the 2nd best poster for nothing.

Edit: STFU Mariofan064 you realize that by "2nd *top" he means he has the 2nd greatest post count?

Edit 2: Seriously Mariofan064, This "edit" joke isn't funny anymore, and was never funny in the first place. Go back to reddit or Voat or wherever you stupid fucks hangout now an' days.

Edit 3: Mariofan064, stop acting like that fat kid in class who make fun of his weight just so people like him. Its not funny!

Edit 4: Thanks Turret.

I never said I was the 2nd best poster. On my profile it says I'm the 2nd top poster; and you're right, that means I have the 2nd largest post count. Also, derailing, but the 1st top poster is Renhoek, which will probably change by the end of the year
(All that aside, post count isn't much to be proud of so don't go around thinking that)

The funny part is that I've already told you all this before, in the Fear Thread. As for the rest of your post, uh, I think you might actually be two people.
