my criticism is that almost all of the games are exclusively for windows, making quite a few of us unable to vote.
Could you list the ones that don't work and what OS you have?Assasin-Kiashi wrote:my criticism is that almost all of the games are exclusively for windows, making quite a few of us unable to vote.
EDIT: also if one's mine (I'm assuming it is)
I uploaded a video here so you can make your opinions from that I guess.

Wish I could. I'm at my University job. Still, even then to connect to the Wi-Fi isn't easy (due to reasons). Perhaps tonight: You, me, and some other people. We gon' throw down and smash. Or do 1v1. In the latter: Omega Boxing Ring YOU WON'T.MagicPillow wrote:I finally did it.

At some point I'm going to purchase a Wii U for Smash & Hyrule Warriors. IMO Smash is only fun locally, but hey! That's just me.

The problem with the meme run is that it is reference based and that he didn't make the assets, right?
The gameplay looks playable if he swapped out the graphics and music but then it'd loose it's audience. Just hope Nintendo say no because it'd set an awfully low bar.

Actually, it reminds me of Trosh: The Movie: The Game (at least the first part) if you replaced the assets...

I know, but the overall flashiness and in-your-face effects reminded me of Trosh: TM: TG.

Mike Murderbeck, the main developer of Paranautical Activity had his game removed from Steam, because he made a Death Threat to Gabe Newell out of frustration
People are calling him Phil Fish 2.0 Already. He even quoted him

At least you can still buy it from HB and Desura
Also I had Early Access so it's still in my steam library
Oh and imo the whole deal is exaggerated. It's fucking twitter. People are stupid sometimes. Things like social media and "fame" heighten the risk of mistakes coming back to hurt you (That's why I don't use social media that much). This is why every time I see something like this, I see such a large debate about it. If I jokingly said I would kill Gabe Newell today in school because steam mobile wasn't working right for me, nothing would have happened to me. When it's a known game developer and it's on the internet, things are naturally different. As individuals we all have unique opinions of what exactly is different and what should or shouldn't be different ourselves. That's why debates and arguments occur over this shit.
People keep forgetting this
He was part of a team
http://codeavarice.com/post/10059270923 ... de-avarice
This guy is fully acknowledging that it was his fault for handling the situation poorly, and now he's stepped down (taking no profits from the game any longer)
There is now no reason for steam not to let the game back up. The other team members deserve the chance to succeed and I'm sure they've got lives to support of their own too
Steam better put PN back up
Also as I was saying on Skype, I've heard enough of "Oh don't buy this game that would be terrible to support such a horrible person"
You buy a game because it's a good game that you want, and whether you like it or not that game is a product of the hard worker that made it. People need to stop making it their own personal goal to deem who is worthy in the game dev business. That's decided by whether or not they are a good game dev, and therefore the games they make, which you are judging without even considering the content itself.
I doubt very many people here would be among those who treat it like that, since I know you and you guys are really cool for the most part when it comes to understanding gaming cultre and stuff.
tl;dr I really just hope the other team members don't get screwed over because of a stupid mistake

And yeah, it is different if you send a death threat to a company you work with - to be more precise, a company that YOU benefit from working with. Valve is any day of the week in a stronger position and they don't have to deal with this kind of bullshit.
You do not complain about your business partners publicly, especially if you're dependent on them, and ESPECIALLY IF IT'S ONLY A MINOR MISTAKE THAT CAN BE FIXED WITH A PHONE CALL OR A FEW EMAILS.
There's a reason why there's such a thing called "PR". And you know what the job of a PR guy would be? Make a tweet saying "We have found that the Steam Store incorrectly lists the game as Early access. We're working with Valve to fix the error". Either that or make a joke or say nothing.
Leaving the company completely was the best and the least he could do.
Oh and complaining about your reseller being a monopoly and incompetent doesn't help either. Their service, their rules, take it or leave it.
Not that I'm such a big fan of Steam, small indies likely have absolutely no negotiating position (especially seeing what he said about the release date). It's the same with any other type of company.
I completely agree that the situation was his fault and he should have stepped down and action should have been taken.Sašo wrote:Leaving the company completely was the best and the least he could do.
I just wish the action that was taken hadn't been something that affected the entire company and also the game itself.
Yes, this dude is an absolute moron for what he did. I wasn't saying his actions weren't significant just because under different circumstances they wouldn't be. I was just acknowledging that the circumstances are indeed different, and it's his fault for not acting as if they are. That's what causes these issues to get out of hand.
All in all I just really hope that one member of a team being a moron won't end up destroying the entire team, because as everyone is saying he was not acting professionally. Twitter is social media, personal to an extent. Idealistically there would be a better solution (/punishment) that therefore did not directly impact the "professional" situation of the company and game as a whole. I don't want the community to miss out on a great game just because of a mess from the people that made it.

If you're one of those people who comes across well 100% of the time then honestly, congratulations, you won humanity. However if you're a person with emotions and your team is releasing a game in the next 2 months, you should not allowed to use social media without a PR rep in the room.
If I remember correctly, this was a standard practice of Nintendo.

In other news, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has received a trailer:
from what I gather, instead of doors there are air vents, which you can't close, and a hallway in the middle of the room, you'll be able to wear Freddy's mask as defense against the animatronics, and the old animatronics were replaced by new ones, but the old ones are still around.
Also it's assumed that the old animatronics still think you're a naked exoskeletion, so they're trying to get you, so they can stuff you into a animatronic suit.
While the new animatronics, are coded to have a "Criminal detection system" so they'll also walk around, searching for a criminal, and if they see you wearing a Freddy mask, they will think you're one of the old, malfunctioning animatronics, and will try to get rid of you. In other words, Masked = New animatronics will want to kill you, unmasked = old ones want to kill you.
Also no doors yay.

theres theory that its the bunny guys missing face that is the mask and not freddy's mask
cause like freddy has circle shaped eye holes and bunny has more squished eye shape and its similar to the mask

Well, there's a reason it's called a jumpscare, which is, of course, because it often makes you jump in fright despite how how scared you actually are of the object/character performing it. Cheap? Yes, but it serves its purpose, which in this game is a death animation. (There's only ~5 in the game, anyway.)
The main argument I see for this game being scary is that it builds up atmosphere/tension throughout the night, mixed with the 2spoky4me setting and overall design, makes it scary. Unfortunately for those who try to argue this, it obviously doesn't translate over to the videos of let's players playing the game, and they know it.
The lack of it being scary when you're watching supposedly leads to people like Renhoek, bringing us full circle.
Well, that's what they say. It makes sense, but if that's the sole argument for the game being scary, then maybe it isn't so scary? Food for thought.
I also heard it's meant to play off people's fear of "inanimate objects come to life" and similar fear, both of which you may or may not have, so it could be that's why it's 0spooky4you. I hear the other argument a lot more than this one, though.
Overall it's still not a bad game to me, and whether you're scared of it or not should not be the judge of that. But you can go ahead and use it to question the game's credibility as a horror game...which is what Renhoek was doing...
Also, just noting: I'ven't played the game yet, and until I do I really shouldn't say whether it's 2spooky4me according to the logic above, but I'm not scared of it.

Shameless self-promotion is shameless:
Yes, I'm making YouTube gameplay videos now. Also, my voice is f*cking terrible, so don't expect any narrator voice of any sort...
Honest criticism is very appreciated, so let me know about it in the video comments (not here, just so I have easier access for comments later).

I'm gonna start keeping count of how many times I find out how each person's voice doesn't sound like what I think it should be in my head. So far: QCode, Idiot, Hugo, Popcan, and I think thunderflipper. So, +1 each of you, brain 0.
