Are you connected to the steam group?
Because that's pretty much how we coordinate these things.
Literally a "I'll race you guys in 5 minutes, see you there!" and all 4 of us raced somewhat happily and raging.

EDIT:
What did you guys get with your free game offer, if it's available / you know about it?

I went and got Wind Waker HD, since I already have NSMBU and Pikmin 3. Didn't really want Wii Party U.

You copied me.
(I got Wind Waker HD even though I had 2 Gamecube copies, though...)

How dare you Magic Pillow.
Wait, do you own / have you beaten the original Wind Waker?
If not, I still highly recommend Pikmin 3 anyways.

A trick/shortcut for Rainbow Road that you might not know:

When the path splits in two, take the right path and continue up to the first peg. Hit the right side of it and aim a little more to the right - you'll land on the other track, farther along than you would be normally.

The things you learn from watching time trial ghosts!

I knew about that, and I sue it online.
It's a bit difficult sometimes, though.

Edit:
MagicPillow, WillWare, are you guys on the steam chat?

Judging from how tightly you nabbed those corners and how strategically you used those items, I think I have a new challenger approaching.

While I don't find this that hilarious, I'm just glad that people are liking MK8.

It should mean a few more Wii Us for Nintendo, and in return it means more money for more games. (As well as more 3rd party support.)

I'll race you all when I get back.
And no, this isn't a pointless bump:
Image
It could be DLC or simply beta DLC icons that they didn't finish and are planning to implement.
Or it just could mean that this is beta stuff that never will come to be.
Either way, I'm still holding my ground on the additional cups that I was blathering about before the game released.
(Yes, I am aware of the 2D-3D icon difference.)

HA
I WAS RIGHT

From the http://store.nintendo.co.uk/wii-u-ddc/t ... 91121.html:
"Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent. The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.

Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 – Released: November 2014

Pack 1 includes:

3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link
4 Vehicles
8 Courses
Mario Kart 8 Pack 2 – Released: May 2015

Pack 2 includes:

3 Characters: Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser
4 Vehicles
8 Courses
As a bonus for purchasing both packs – as a bundle or separately – you can get eight different-coloured Yoshis and eight different-coloured Shy Guys that can be used right away."

Those a-holes include Link and not Bowser Jr or Diddy Kong or anyone else that's a fan favorite?

Of course not, clearly we need a third set of Mario and Peach clones

But I don't care what's missing, because what's here more than makes up for it! IT ALL LOOKS SO AMAZING! GIVE ME MOAR COURSES NAO

Pic of DLC stuff
They changed the unused cup icons

You can preorder both DLC for $12. Great deal as you get the 8 color reskins for Shy Guy and Yoshi. I bought today. Pretty cool!
