In April [2012], Gabe Newell is interviewed by the Seven Day Cooldown podcast. His interviewer asked, "My final question and the question in the back of all your fans' minds and everyone has been waiting to ask you for a long time: When can we expect the release of Ricochet 2?" An audibly amused Newell responded, "In terms of Ricochet 2, we always have this problem that when we talk about things too far in advance, we end up changing our minds as we're going through and developing stuff, so as we're thinking through the giant story arc which is Ricochet 2, you might get to a point where you're saying something is surprising us in a positive way and something is surprising us in a negative way, and, you know, we'd like to be super-transparent about the future of Ricochet 2. It seems more than likely that the term "Ricochet 2" is a code-name for "Half-Life 3" as Ricochet itself was a multiplayer mod for the original Half-Life that is considered one of the worst games Valve has released (and more importantly, does not even have a plot). When asked if those working on the project have moved on to other games, he responds, "No, everybody who has worked on Ricochet 2 continues to work on Ricochet 2."

Also, Valve almost never release game when there is not something particularly innovative. I don't think they are gonna do HL3 until, they find an innovation to make.

The voice actor pulled a rather popular PR stunt. Being a renowned contributor, he had the power to lie through his teeth and have people believe him, while this blatant article above my post makes it pretty clear that the lies are in fact lies. Like cake.

It's kind of ridiculous that people are still hyping too much over it. I read the comments, people believe him about it not being worked on (and yes, it does say HL3, not EP3) and I think it's being worked on by Valve, but it's just not that big of a deal for me. People who keep on going "HL3 confirmed" and "HL3 has to come out now!" are just tedious, immature brats who think that they control everything of what a major company like Valve can do. Valve can toy as much as they want, so why bother saying those two things (or anything related to them)? Overall, people should just grow up.

Oh my god this thread is hilarious.
I can honestly say that out of all my friends that play Portal, I'm the only one that doesn't want a Portal 3. Why? Because I honestly don't know if it could be any better! :)
I really need to get Half Life though :(
