Guys, I just bumped the topic back into relevance so we can discuss this because it's relevant again.
Don't blame Jony for this, I take full credit.

Woah! The Nintendo Direct was awesome!
I'll need to get a Wii U.
Also a new challenger: Greninja.

I just want to point out that Megaman's Final Smash is one of the sexiest things I've ever seen.
Oh and Nintendo should seriously be the one on the design end for a new Megaman game since oh my god all 5 of them look so goddamn sexy and Nintendo just hit it right on all Megaman-based graphics in that direct.
End fangasm.

He's not coming back with the sonic boom models because he's already in the game and you can see his model, and I honestly wouldn't care.

It's interesting how they separated any "transformable" characters (ie Zelda/Shiek and Samus/ZSS). I think it balances out the game a bit more.

Don't worry, they will be.
And so will Ness, Captain Falcon, and not so much Jiggly Puff since they were in the past 3 games.

I think a breaking point would be if they got like Master Chief instead of Solid Snake this time around. Cuz, you know, Chief is great.

Any interesting stages or new items? I haven't been following the progression to closely btw, so forgive my ignorance.

I think I saw a blue shell, chain chomp, and tanooki super leaf somewhere around here.
I found it interesting that most/all smash stages will now have a final destination form.

The real question is:
Does the final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage have a final destination stage?

Or will you just plat the 'for fun' mode, without the final destination stage version of the final destination stage of the final destination stage- I'm done with spam now.

I like how all the stages have that 'Final Destination' form of it. That way people can still be competitive while having some sort of good look to it. I like Final Destination and all that but the backgrounds got all sorts of boring after the umpteenth time on it.

Also the fact that now modders, when they finally emerge for this game, will have no need to mod the stages to be more "competitive". Angry rant time: I like that Project M mod they did for Brawl but for the love of fuck they changed nearly all the fun stages to be competitive and they ruined what made the stage interesting.

I like Final-est destination better.
That aside, Smash Bros came in the middle of Mario Kart 8 analysis, so now I may never know more about the game. :(

I was thrown off because people kept saying finaler destination or something along those lines and I assumed that the joke would keep going.

Probably something like

"What?"
"Circles."

I'm happy about kirby's smash.

When I was kirby, I didn't bother with the smash ball since half the time my enemies ended up gaining health.

I need a wiiU because Rosalina looks amazing and is the type of character I'd want to get good with (and the 3ds graphics are bad)

The 3DS graphics are not bad.
I mean, for the system. They're probably some of the best on the 3DS and just look not as good on a internet browser.

The Wii U on the other hand looks amazing because it's an HD system. Of course it's going to outperform a handheld.

Is it just me or have they done a slight cell shaded look on the 3ds?

Yeah, I saw this too. Not sure how I feel about it, if it is actually cell shaded. It can be a really cool visual effect if applied properly.

Maybe it's cell shaded because of part of the 3D process, and you can tell when it isn't on 3D mode

Characters retain a small outline so that they're easier to see on the small screen but i'm not to sure about cell shading
I'm probably going to end up buying the 3DS version since it would be easier for me to play with my friends online. Mostly, because most of them have a 3DS but not a Wii U.

Because they cost money.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Best story ever right
Well anyways, I'm sure they're good or at least decent, but I definitely have better things to spend money on.
So yeah that's why I'm not really into the hype
Wish I was

Same here. I don't want to even come close to buying a Wii U since I don't play on (newer (ps3, ps4, xbox-xbox one)) consoles anyway. I have a 3DS and my univ has a gaming club so most likely I'll wind up on the 3DS version. Besides, the 3DS version is portable. Fight people in the middle of class, lunch, whatever. Fun times ahead.

I'm honestly planning on getting both. They both look amazing, have distinctively different artstyles, and since there's enough differences between the two it'll be nice to have more Smash for both consoles. (Different stages, and 3DS has Smash run so Wii U has to have something equivalent or better that they've yet to show)

Plus since they're coming out at different points there's no point to only buy one since, well, you're getting a good half of the year to save up like $60 for the Wii U version.

My school has yet to form a gaming club.
Other than a stupid League of Legends club... It's pretty depressing

I hope to get both versions of SSB, but I know that, out of the two, I'm more likely to get the portable version.

I have no idea how I got Brawl, though considering that I was 8 or something. As far as I know, it wasn't a game that I wanted. Mario probably convinced me...
