Wow that's horrible. I've read about that, but have never heard or known anyone who had one. :\
Shadow, what? That is extremely common and most of my friends had it. Most of the people I know actually. I don't have it though and I hope I never have it.
It's not that bad, but it's pretty annoying to have, imo. I mean: You vomit, have fever, feel sick and your appendix hurts so bad.
Anyways, good luck Pyro!

Well I'm done with the surgery and I'm now appendix-free. It really wasn't bad at all to be honest. A little bit of soreness and some slight trouble making jarate, but I'm fine now.
You are now inferior.Pyrosaur wrote:Well I'm done with the surgery and I'm now appendix-free. It really wasn't bad at all to be honest. A little bit of soreness and some slight trouble making jarate, but I'm fine now.
How does it feel to no longer be part of the all-organ master race?
I saw that. And god it's the most retarded thing I've ever seen. It's almost like an April Fool's joke...

Jesus, that looks like SHIT!
And Glad to know you're better Pyrosaur!

For just 40$ less than the regular 3DS, it's just an useless thing...why taking the 3D out? You can turn it off in the 3DS, and you can even lock it down for safety reasons with the parental control. You can't close it so it's just bulky and less portable...i really see no reason for it to exist.
Well honestly now that I've thought about it and read a bit more about it, I don't think it's such a bad idea. Sure, those of us who have the 3DS and think that it can't be improved upon think the 2DS is a step backwards, but there are those who really don't care about the 3D and this gives them another option. It looks pretty dumb, but I'm sure it will have it's fans and will certainly help boost 3DS sales.
Also, thanks for all the concern guys, I really appreciate it.
Also also, the box art for the new Zelda is looking pretty slick:

If you look at the 2DS closely, you can see that it's meant for younger kids and such- the controls are moved up for ease, and breaking the hinge/backbone of the 2DS is something that won't happen. (I broke my first DS that way...)
Not only that, but it's a $40 cheaper option with the 3D removed for those who don't care or don't want it. That 40 bucks can get you a good game or two.
It's a smart move that will boost sales, but I certainly don't want to buy it.

I don't have the 3DS, and I don't care about 3D that much, but I'd still prefer the 3DS over this 2DS...40$ are worth the option to close it and being more comfortable to carry around, and to activate the 3D if i ever want to(not to mention the 2DS is ugly to me).
How did you manage to break the hinge? You don't even have to touch the top part except to open/close it.imaginary cake wrote:breaking the hinge/backbone of the 2DS is something that won't happen. (I broke my first DS that way...)
I think it's a good idea.
Ok, the name + the design look like it's a joke.
But:
-The name 2DS is good because when you hear it, you understand that it's in the same serie as the 3DS. If it was DSlate or something, when you hear it, you won't think "Oh, it can play 3DS games". It's not the best name, but it's also far form being the worst.
-It's unclosable because that make it cheaper, and it make it harder to break.
-Some people can't stand the 3D, so they never use it.
And finally: It's not for you. It's for children.(And seeing the reddit thread, It's a great console for poor college students.)

I just hope it doesn't turn into the DS with a shit tone of better version coming out once a year.
EDIT: actually this might be going backwards in quality since it's removing features.

Yeah, that's a problem. But how would you call it? "3DS [lite or something]" is misleading (There is no 3D) and "DS [slate or something]" will sound like it's a new generation of DS.
There is no perfect name.

I meant how would you call the 2DS? 3DS and NDS are already taken.Chippy348 wrote:I always call it "3DS" and "NDS", maybe I'm just dumb
Nintendo's really cutting corners on the 2DS.

Ugh, Nintendo's shit really hit the fan this time. Is there really any point in buying the 2DS? You must be a complete fucking idiot to buy such a piece of shit.
Following that logic(this won't affect your life and you won't buy it, it's useless for you to complain about it), people who won't buy it shouldn't comment/rant/complain about it, and the people who will buy it should comment, but since they will buy it, their comment will always be positive, hence the only comments you'd see around about it would be the positive ones... applying this logic to everything that's commentable, there would be no more discussions or constructive conversations about anything, cuz veryone would think the same way.Pyrosaur wrote:image
Honestly, that actually makes me want to buy it more. If a strip of the plastic between the 2 screens, I could have one big touch sensitive screen/device ready for hacking.imaginary cake wrote:Nintendo's really cutting corners on the 2DS.

This right here. It'd be a pretty cool device to hack.ucenna wrote:Honestly, that actually makes me want to buy it more. Oh and in other news I got DDoSed yesterday lol
It's cheaper. Obviously, it's gonna be less good than the 3DS, that's how we make things cheaper.Shadowlord wrote:Ugh, Nintendo's shit really hit the fan this time. Is there really any point in buying the 2DS? You must be a complete fucking idiot to buy such a piece of shit.
The problem is that it's not the best name. Because it sound like the 2DS came before the 3DS(2<3), and also it sound like a joke : "What's the point of 3D in 3DS when you never use it Nintendo should do a 2DS instead lololol.".Chippy348 wrote:Erm.. what? I don't get your point. I would certainly call the 2DS "2DS", how else?Automatik wrote:I meant how would you call the 2DS? 3DS and NDS are already taken.
So, when people said that, I replied "yeah but try to find a better name" because If you call it something like DSlate, it will sound like it's a whole new generation of DS that can't play 3DS. So they had to have a name that look like "3DS". But if you keep "3DS" in the name, it will also be misleading since it don't do 3D(That's the point). So 2DS is the best compromise.
And then you came and said that you would "call [it=>the 2DS] "3DS" and "NDS" ".
it's a 3DS that's 2D
i don't understand what's so fucking difficult about this

You come into a store, wanting to buy a game console.
You find the 2DS next to the 3DS.
You will probably think:
"Oh, the 2DS came before the 3DS"(The same way as the IPhone 5 came before the IPhone 6), "I should take the 3DS, since it's the newer version."
and not "It's a 3DS that's 2D"
or you could not be retarded and just read about something before buying it
What I mean is, you can't just assume things before making a decision to buy something.
Well sure, but that don't mean making titles for game consoles misleading is good.
3DS-3D
2DS-2D
Even 12 year old me would've been able to figure this out.

Get one of these things and either a battery pack or a car adaptor.
